It’s quite humid today and while the sun was out I’d even say it was hot. Now keep in mind that just 9 days ago it snowed a little. Not snow that stuck but snow none the less.  Gotta love Minnesota.

So today I’m doing a bit of planting today…

Just 2 hanging baskets and a small pot of flowers so far. All from seeds I saved and started in the house.

I’ll be buying some plants but still have a few things in the house in need of planting.

Stop by Kimmies for the links to the other Tea Tuesday bloggers

On a side note to those participating in the Tea Cup round robin. I got my package on Friday but hadn’t had a chance to do more than take a tiny peek inside until this morning.

“Houston we have a problem….” Apparently, the  package wasn’t handled very carefully in transit.

I have emailed Judy privately to ask how we should proceed and am awaiting a reply but thought I’d mention it anyway.

I’ve been making a few more cards lately but keep forgetting to photograph them before sending.
At least I remembered with these..although the pictures are a tiny bit blurry.

Those telltale signs of spring have finally decided to show themselves.

A few weeks ago the odometer in my minivan turned to all 7’s as I pulled in the driveway.

I thought…”Huh, must be my lucky day.”

There just might be something to that!!

I’ve been very lucky lately in winning blog candy.

See this cute little clay tea tag against my tea cup. It came from Jill of Jill Ruth & Co.   She also happens to be one of Kimmie’s Tea Tuesday friends!

She had such unique packaging…Love it.
Everything is reusable. Awesome!

Just look at all the fun stuff that came out of that demure little box.

I knew exactly where the “bloom” tag would go. Right on my desk so I can look at it all the time.

Thanks so much Jill!!

I had been planning to stain the deck today…well actually we were going to start yesterday…but it’s been  so cold that at times there are snow flurries in the air.

I already had “painting” on the brain, so I decided to work on a canvas that I’d covered over the previous painting with gesso and left for the past…well, forever.

Earlier today I took this photo while trying to decide what else it needed.

I took a “type” rubber stamp to it in a couple of places and then decided I hated it. I then grabbed a wet rag to try to scrub the ink off in places. As I was scrubbing I was liking the effect. More scrubbing and I was liking it even better.

After all the scrubbing, I did go back and add a few more bits of paint here and there.

There are lots of layers on this canvas…just the way I like them. Lots of wrinkles from tissue paper, some modeling paste, book page scraps and the found text that has become the title of the piece.

I wish I could do a Windsor knot…

Wine gift bag made from a boys shirt sleeve by yours truly.

After a long delay on my part… I finally finished the first set of pages in the colors round robin.

I was so surprised at how difficult just having colors to use was for me. Without a theme, I was spinning my wheels and not able to focus on the task at hand.

The colors were chocolate brown, turquoise and ivory…we could splash black if needed.

This first page was the only one I had in my head from the beginning. This is actually the middle of a signature. These pages will be sewn into a plaster page book for a class, if I understand right.

These swirls are on the back of the signature. You can see the fold mark down the middle.

This next set I actually started with the back. I had the papers picked out long ago. Of course the scan isn’t showing the color properly. I messed around in Photoshop a little trying to fix it but only seemed to make it worse. So imagine the colors are proper…which they are in real life. :)

This is actually the inside of that signature. I liked the poem and the color was  right.

So for all my fretting about these pages, everything just sort of fell together when I put my mind to it.
I sure hope this is what Marilyn is looking for in these pages.
