I got a wonderful surprise in the mail…

Martha, the winner of my OWOH 1st prize, sent him to me as a very unexpected but truly appreciated thank you gift.
He totally brightened my day!

Today he’ll be observing me in my attempt to bake whole wheat bread from the handle of my china hutch. If I succeed this time, he’ll become my good luck charm. I tend to make bricks… I’m a good cook but baking eludes me. I think it’s the measuring and waiting part that is difficult.

Wish me luck…

Still plugging away at my Nature AB…..
I got a couple new white pens and am really liking how they look. They are Souffle white ink pens by Sakura of America. (no affiliation…just a happy customer)

Just for fun…

My mom found this card in my dad’s room at the nursing home. Due to his dementia, he couldn’t tell her who gave it to him or how it had gotten there.

She thought I had made it.
She was positive I had made it since I used to make cards all the time and had just forgotten to sign it. It’s a beautiful card but it wasn’t me. Although, I do intend to make one of similar style.

It occurred to me that I really would like to give more handmade cards again.
I’m also trying to use some of my scraps. I just can’t stand to toss perfectly usable papers into the recycling bin.

Since I had The Complete Works of Shakespeare text block left over from my book purse, I figured I better do something with some of those pages.

I’m not as happy with the look of these as some of my previous paper beads. I think having just text with no color variation is kind of boring. I’ll likely be going back to magazine pages the next time.

This month UHU was sending samples of UHU stic along with St. Patrick’s Day themed items.

I used a few items from my stash to complete this challenge.

Please stop by the UHU blog to see if there are anymore samples left and to check out the other designers projects.
