T Tuesday: busy bee edition

Good morning…It’s Tuesday already…time for another edition of T stands for Tuesday hosted by Elizabeth.

Once again I have been busy, busy. For starters…I made soap again last week. 20141003_7103
I used a new recipe so we’ll see how it turns out in a month.

The days seem to be taken up with creating more Holiday inventory. I have lots of work-in-progress. I get tired of working on the same thing over and over again so I switch off often. I think that’s part of my craft ADD self diagnosis.

There are always more cards to make. I’m obsessed. I love doing these mini collages.

This morning I met a friend for a walk at the arboretum. It was a bit chilly, so I brought my mittens just in case. I hate having cold hands.

My other new obsession is my fitbit.

I’m working really hard to get my steps in each day. It’s nice to be just over 2000 from my goal by 9am. It’s paying off according to the scale.

I’m going to help out my mom in a bit then do some more crafting. What are you doing today?

Look what I found today….

I am so excited about the deal I got at a garage sale today…only $7

A rotating rack for my greeting cards. It will work perfect for craft sales!
In the past I’ve had my cards in a photobox with theme dividers. When cards are displayed on a rack they invite you to come and check them out instead of flipping through a box.

It comes apart into 4 pieces for storage, although the pieces are pretty big. Good thing I’m in the middle of reorganizing, right!?!

Collage cards collage

Was that a confusing title or what?!? But it is accurate. Thanks to my friend Patty, I now have a quick and easy way to make a collage or mosaic of photos… The program is called pixlr and I just love it! These are just few of the cards I’ve made as of late. I’d been slacking a bit on my etsy store inventory but figured it was time to get back at it.

T Tuesday: start of summer edition

Welcome to another edition of T stands for Tuesday hosted by my friend Elizabeth. As always I have my beverage at hand. A to-go cup? Yep…we’ve already been to the orthodontist this morning. Ah yes…the joys of summer vacation. I’m thinking we are going to get out and enjoy some sunshine today and fresh air. Maybe walk around a lake… Bike some trails…. Throw a frisbee… Not sure but we could all use some outside time.

I’ve been continuing to work on some cards.I started a painting yesterday on a canvas board. I’m out of regular canvas to this will have to do for now.It still a work in progress….

Grad card money holder

A very special young man in our life just graduated from high school. He is like my 3rd child…my unofficially adopted one. He surprised me with a cup of Caribou coffee one Mother’s Day morning. So sweet. He is friend to Big J…and an over-sized big brother to Little J. grad card The boys have had a love for video games since the day they met. Nintendo was the platform of choice. Now “my second son” is going off to college into a video game design program in a few short months. I thought this card would make him smile.

T Tuesday: random craft edition

It’s Tuesday again…time to have some sparkling water in my favorite glass and link up with Elizabeth for T stands for Tuesday. 20140601_5021 So what I have I been up to lately? I’ve been doing more crafting than blogging…. And more yard work than crafting. Weeding, mowing, planting and watering… But now that we’ve had over 4 inches of rain, at least I don’t have to worry about the watering.

Now on to the random crafts…Here we have scarf/necklace made from my favorite tie-dye t-shirt. I finally had to give the shirt up after discovering a huge unrepairable hole. Apparently I wasn’t ready to completely part with it…

I started this American Girl doll hat when Little J and I were at our camp. One of the little girls asked if she could have it when I was done. Well certainly, my dear. I used my cabbage dyed yarn and knitting loom.

Then, of course, more cards… I’m trying to get ahead for the Fall/Winter craft sale season.

I was going to share one more new item today but I’m thinking that it deserves it’s own post. It’s something new that I’ve never tried. I was inspired by something on YouTube. Basically to think outside the box. That’s generally how my brain works anyway.

Collaged greetings

I’ve been at it again. Sewing bits and pieces together. This time I broke out some colored card stock for inspiration. I added sentiments to this batch. I don’t seem to be running out out scraps any time soon so I’m sure there will be more.
