I really enjoy my tea. It’s a daily ritual for me…at least until the hot weather comes.

I also love books! I’m especially drawn to old books. I love the way they look and feel.

Some I would never alter in any way and others scream at me to make them my own with paint, paper, fabric and glue.

Hop on over to Kimmies blog to see what the other girls are doing today.

I can’t believe it’s been 4 years since I started blogging! I wasn’t sure it was going to be for me but now I can’t image not blogging!

My very first post was on a tiny handmade book that I sent off to North Dakota if memory serves.

I’d like to celebrate by having a giveaway!!  Doesn’t that sound like a great idea…

So if you’d like to win this set of 5 blank greeting cards…
Just leave a comment on this post, making sure I have some way to contact you if you win, by 10pm CT on April 17th.  I’ll draw a name and post the winner on Monday morning!

Ok…so, no lion… I’m not sure that there is one at our zoo. But we didn’t make it through the whole thing. We were tired and the weather wasn’t nearly as warm as promised.

How about Wolves, Tigers and Bears… oh my!

The bear on the tree just cracks me up!!!

Ok, I really don’t think either of these postcards have any origination in France but “part deux” is fun to say.

I sure hope Teri likes them!!

I mentioned before that I’m doing another round robin. Well, I finished the first spread in the first book.
Teri’s theme is Victoriana.  She also requested that we use a postage stamp somewhere on our pages. Perfect…I already had colors in mind and knew I had a bunch of the same postage stamp. I once again used some fun new bits of stuff I’ve received lately such as the lace and organza.

I decided to use a real tintype and secured it with brads. I think its funny how they went in and gave her jewelry some “bling” with gold paint then pinked up her cheeks as well.

On to the next page…
I have a few ideas swirling in my head but I really must get some housework done today.

A little afternoon tea gazing at the remains of the snow in the backyard.  Ok…now back to work. :)

In the continuing effort to use what I have…I decided to make a new wrap to go around this candle tin.
I got the candle a few years ago after Christmas on clearance…super deep discount that I couldn’t pass up. Especially when I realized that the ugly Christmas paper would come right off.

Sweet!

I used watercolor paper as my base. The background color was achieved with distress inks, dress pattern tissue and found text.

I sifted through some of my new stash from a couple of swaps. I’m sure some of you may recognize some of your stuff. I love new fodder. It can be very inspiring.

This is going to be a gift…I hope the recipient likes it!
