Quite a while ago Elizabeth facilitated a swap between Patty and I. I was in need of a few more pages for my Quotes AB and Patty was thinking about possibly doing a chunky book.

Just look at the wonderful tip-ins that Patty created!
**I have been so neglectful in actually posting these.**
                          Sorry Patty!!!

This is a gorgeous piece. I’ve never been good with “white” but here it is done so well.
Such wonderful quotes were chosen.
“The universe sings to those who listen”
Love that…

And just take a gander at this one!!  The colors are amazing together. The texture in the photo pales in comparison to the real deal.

The quote:
“Happiness belongs to those who are easily contented.”
            ~Aristotle

Patty has included one of her little nests that I admire so much.

Patty gave me free reign to do whatever came to me at the moment for the chunky pages.
Sweet!
I’m pretty random most of the time so that suits me just fine.
Since I forgot to actually take photos before sending them off to her…she was kind enough to photograph them for me.

And if that wasn’t enough…she sent a wonderful package of “goodies” to play with. Although it wasn’t planned…when I looked through the lens of my camera…look what I saw.

A Heart!

It was a gift from the heart from Patty!
Thank you my dear.

I missed Tea Tuesday yesterday…
I was busy getting a root canal.  Oh, Joy.

So the cups remained in the cupboard…they looked pretty while waiting though.

I’ve also spent an enormous amount of time in waiting rooms lately so I’ve brought stuff with to keep me busy and make the time pass more quickly.

Since we were “blessed” with MORE snow today…heavy wet snow..over the top of rain and sleet…I was homebound. Not worth getting stuck, going in the ditch or getting in a wreck for basically nothing.

I decided I’d do my best to play happy homemaker.

I baked a double batch of spritz… happy spring colors of course.

And put a yummy roast in the oven.

I also had to try and save all the seeds J and I planted over the weekend.
We haven’t had a sunny or warm day since.

They were and should be here on the cart but it’s been so cold that I feared they’d rot instead of germinate.  So….

I cleared space on the mantel and turned on the fireplace to warm them. Sad but true.

I’m going to move them back to that cart tomorrow morning since it’s supposed to be sunny….not particularly warm but at least sunny.

So actually a pretty laid back Tuesday for me…WOOHOO!
Workout, shower, laundry and art are all on today’s list. Already have a couple checked off. It’s a good day…with the exception of the rain mixing with ice pellets. BRRR!

My Christmas Cactus  is blooming again. I’m not complaining…  It’s just odd. It seems to bloom about Thanksgiving and Easter…although Easter is very late this year.

Check out the steam I was able to capture in my photo….
(click it to enlarge if needed)
I never thought it would actually show in the photos.

You’ll find the list of my tea Tuesday friends on Kimmies blog.

Anyone notice that my plant is in a tea cup?!?!

My friend Helen sent me an email today reminding me about helping the birds now at nesting season. I KNOW I’ve seen others in previous years set out a basket of goodies for the birds to use but for the life of me I couldn’t find any of their posts. Of course I may be mistaking one blog for another in my searches. I read A LOT of blogs!

Anyway..in my search to find the sweet basket posts for Helen, I came across another simple solution.
Since I had a nearly empty bag of lemons, I opted for this solution.

I added:

  • yarn scraps
  • thread
  • ribbon
  • dryer lint
  • torn fabric strips
  • Spanish moss

I took a crochet hook to pull some scraps partially out so they’d be more visible for the birds. Not sure if this is needed but I did it anyway.

I hope to see some nests with some fun colors while on my walks this year!!

Tomorrow, I’ll be sending out round robin my book to start it’s journey around the USA with a final pit-stop in Canada before returning home to me in before the end of the year.

I’ve completed the cover, the sign-in page and 2 spreads.

Yes, the photos are blurred…your eyes aren’t giving out. :)

    actually worked.
–my daughter has a working stethoscope now….

   flowers on it.
–No banana seat but I did have the flower basket!!

5.You learned to skate with actual skates (not roller blades)that had
    metal wheels.
–yes!! they strapped on over my shoes.

6.You thought Gopher from Love Boat was cute (admit it!)
–oh yeah…he was a bit of a hunk at the time.

7.You had nightmares after watching Fantasy Island.
–I was usually sent to bed at that time since it came on at 9PM but on the occasion I was able to stay up…I couldn’t handle it.

8.You had rubber boots for rainy days and Moon boots for snowy days.
–I don’t remember wearing rubber boots but I definitely had MOON BOOTS!!! One of my neighbors has Moon Boots now!!!

9.You had either a “bowl cut” or! “pixie,” not to mention the “Dorothy
Hamil” because your Mom was sick of braiding your hair .
–I had a “Pixie” after my cousin tied me to a chair and cut my hair…no lie…she did!! I was 4…she was 5…I got spanked for letting her do it…she got a “talking to”….really….  No, I’m not bitter. :)
She is more of a sister to me than I’ve ever had, so …oh well…we shouldn’t have been left to our own devices that long at that age….

10.People sometimes thought you were a boy.
–After the “Pixie” and wearing a baseball hat, I’d have to forgive anyone who might have thought so.

17.You had homemade ribbon barrettes in every imaginable color.
–Oh yeah…even though my hair was really too short to look decent with them.

18.You had a pair of Doctor Scholl’s sandals (the ones with hard sole &
the buckle). You also had a pair of salt-water sandals.
–Had a pair of navy blue Doctor Scholl’s ..not sure what salt water sandal’s are….

19.You wanted to be Laura Ingalls Wilder really bad; you wore that

kept it “pretty” with the comb you kept in your back pocket.

My hair never feathered right. My natural wave/curl always worked against me in those days.

Blueberry Muffin and Huckleberry Pie.
–They smelled so good. I was very jealous of my cousin when she got them for Christmas!

Hazzard was your boyfriend, (and you wanted your first car to be a jeep
just like Daisy’s?!)
  — I had a big time crush on Beau…or was it Bo Duke?  I knew my first car would be a VW bug so that was a no brainer for me….

25.Every now and then “It’s a Hard Knock Life” from the movie, “Annie”
will pop into your brain and you can’t stop singing it the whole day.
Damn you!
   –Yep…dang…there it is again…AGH!

26.YOU had Star Wars action figures, too!
  — Not me…although I played Star Wars with my next door neighbor as a kid. To this day I’ve never seen ANY of the Star Wars movies all the way through.

27.It was a big event in your household each year when the “Wizard of

32.You used to tape record songs off the radio by holding your portable
tape player up to the speaker.
–I remember the first time I tried this I didn’t realize that the microphone would pick up my voice as well….Yes, I am blonde! It was really funny to play it back and hear the one side of a phone call in the background.

33.You couldn’t wait to get the free animal poster that came when you
ordered books from the Weekly Reader book club. Double score if it was
a teddy bear dressed in clothing.

    –For sure…
