At my dear hubby’s prompting…I added steam to my coffee. It does look better.

A while back I made this “Live, Laugh, Love” sign from a $2 garage sale frame and canvas. I was never satisfied with it. I ripped the flowers off and covered it with gesso. Today I decided that a sign for the kitchen night be fun instead.

I am so much happier about this one than the other.

I did some work in PSP today for a digital challenge posted on TheLatestTrendsinMixedMediaArts. It’s layers of digital ephemera and a picture taken by my neighbor with some filters thrown in for good measure.

It seems like an eternity since I’ve had a chance to sit and play in my craft zone. It was refreshing to be free to create. Life has been getting in the way lately. Such is life, right!

The puzzle piece will likely be sent as a postcard. Yes it is that large!

The two altered books spreads are in my “just for fun” book. That book is so fun…no theme, no expectations, only playtime!

I put together a house theme book with the tip-ins I received from a swap on ABC altered book club plus a couple pages of my own just for fun.

The image on the cover is the Hamm house which has been torn down. I got a book in the free bin at the library. It tell the stories of buildings and places in Minnesota that have been lost due to “progress”. I’m not entirely sure but I think the Hamm family is one in the same as the Hamm’s beer company…which is also gone. Although, I still can remember the theme song as well as Hamm’s bear from the TV ads…I may be aging myself with that declaration.

Ok so I’m a little bias…
My kiddo will be 8 on Monday. Tonight while eating his chicken tenders he shouts “I lost my tooth!” What..really…where did it go? We got out the flashlight…found lots of crumbs…a few stray wads of paper but no tooth. We are pretty sure it went down the hatch with a bite of chicken.

This is his solution to the problem.

I’ve been doing more sewing lately than art! Some might argue that sewing is an art form itself but it just feels a bit like work to me. I love to see the end result but I hate the pesky things like measuring, pinning, hand stitching. You get the picture. These are the 2 items I completed today. I’m pretty sure my kiddo won’t see my blog so I feel this is safe to share. It’s a pillow I made from a t-shirt I bought that likely wouldn’t have fit him until he has outgrown his Mario obsession…one can only hope.

The other is a set of placemats for our kitchen table. We are trying to save it from some of the abuse it gets…it’s only 3 years old and already has that “distressed look”.
