The buses have come to get my kidlets for the first day of school. This is the last year for each of them in each of their schools. Next year they each move up to new schools. My days as an elementary school library volunteer are numbered.
The house is extremely quiet.
Gracie is already napping.
I’ve been working on my list.Somethings are must do today and some will stretch out to the rest of the week.
I haven’t used a list most of the summer. It feels good to get back on track.
So where is my beverage of choice today since it is T stands for Tuesday after all.
Well, my coffee was gone long ago since I was up at dark:30. My cup has already been washed and returned to the rack. How’s that for efficient?!
Wish me luck keeping that pace.
I’m skipping knitting today in favor of setting the house to right after a week of everyone including Mr. G being home.
We’ve been busy soaking up the last bits of summer even in the extreme heat of last week.
We went to the fair that was being dubbed the Great Minnesota “sweat-together” rather than get-together.
The day we went it was about 95°F with a heat index of 105°F. We came home about 2pm since Little J had school open house that afternoon. Just as I was going to shower to get presentable, our power went out. Little J and I each had a nice candle lit shower. We went to school with wet heads since a hair dryer wasn’t an option. Oh well.
Luckily our power was restored in fairly short order so we could enjoy the A/C and fans overnight.
I’m not really sure what’s going on with our power grid around here but it’s starting to make me nervous.
This last photo was taken from the Space Tower. You can see the Minneapolis skyline in the background. I had never been on the Space Tower before. I was glad we did it right away in the morning because I’m sure it would get very hot and stuffy towards afternoon.
Enough blather from me…I need to tackle my list!
What are you doing today?
ch ch changes…
getting up at o’dark in the am was always a big adjustment for me too
wish you luck…here’s to a great new school year!
the twirly ride photo is fabulous … makes me think of origami hah!
oh I feel ya for the ‘sweat-together’ UGH!
going out with wet heads probably felt cool ;)
Happy T Day to ya…enjoy the quiet before the kiddos bring those stacks of forms and papers to be signed and returned

So glad you showed a bit of the fair. Never heard of the Space Tower, but it looks like the view is fantastic. I see smog, though in Minneapolis.
Welcome to motherhood. I am fairly glad I skipped that (grin). But those family outings are surely priceless. BTW, I’m also doing a bit of housework today, since I’ve already been grocery shopping. Forgot a few things, though, since I didn’t take a list. Will go back tomorrow, because it’s way, way, way too hot now.
Happy T today, dear friend.
Beautiful photos today as always. I can barely remember my kids school days. ..it has been so long. I do like how the school year brings back a sense of order.
I love the pic of the ride. That was always my favorite ride at the fair.
Hello there, enjoyed hearing your thoughts and plans for the day. I am readjusting to the quiet house today too. The weekend was so noisy and long but GOOD!! It’s kinda cool when the kids all move up one level, mine have done that too. New secretaries and teachers to learn about. I miss the volunteer days too.
Enjoy this first week of peace, sit more and let the not to important things on the list slide. It’s nice to catch your breath and be in the moment, savor all those summer memories and get ready for the FUN FALL FESTIVITIES!!
That picture of the ride is STUNNING, did your kids really ride on it? We are all scared of that one, awesome shot of it!!
How cool to see the skyline from there, thanks so much for sharing this beauty!!
In regard to your comment on my Project Life….. I can’t say enough how much this album means to me. I have done it just over 4 years and the feelings/love/commitment/amazement of it never fades. I’m thankful everyday for this VERY EASY way for me to document our story, my story, their story, all of them wrapped up in this album. The kids know if the house is on fire we each grab one on our way out while hubby grabs the pets, I say this half jokingly. I scrapped for years and stressed so much over making my pages look perfect, like everyone elses, using the newest trends that I lost the meaning of it. After a year break of no scrapping Becky Higgins designed Project Life and my heart was happy again.
This is so easy, there are no rules, no right way. It can be just what you want it to be. I wish all the time that this is something made back for my mom so I could have one of me growing up, sigh and even when my kids were just babies or me and hubby before kids. But now I have the last 4 years here and a lot of scrapbooks before that telling our story.
Sorry for the long comment, just wanted to let you know it is SOOOOO WORTH it. We look back on the year’s album on New Year’s Eve and relive all the memories again. Some we forgot and some are surprises that my kids didn’t know I put in. Hope this helps, let me know if you have questions or just want to talk more. Feel free to email too.
Have a great Tuesday and thanks for sharing!
i’m liking that mug tree and your multi-colored mugs. :)
that ride is much too exciting for me. i’m more the ferris wheel/merry-go-round type ;)
Hi Halle, thanks for coming by the past two weeks when I couldn’t get my head above water!
Yes you are very organised today! Candlelit showers, our shower wouldn’t work without the power!
I would NEVER be able to go on the space tower!
Cazzy x
I only use lists when I am stressed… in fact, my husband knows when its all getting a bit over the top because there is a list for everything on the fridge! Of course, I no longer have to see little people off to school, just DH off to work and the day is my own. You are all saying goodbye to summer and I am saying hello… its so weird!
Happy T Day! My kiddo was back to school today as well, and I also used the day for housework, since I didn’t get much done over Labor Day weekend (which is as it should be). Hope that the new school year will go well for your family! It was a great day for my little dude.
Hi again! You should definitely check out Pine City someday. As a matter of fact, there is a nice park/playground across the street from the store (that’s where I was standing when I took the photo), and that’s where my husband and son hung out while I was shopping. Also, there is an old fashioned ice cream shop (which also had baked goods and candy) just down the street. Perfect side trip when you are going anywhere on I-35! :)
