I’m sad…it’s over…The Summer of Color hosted by Kristin of Twinkle, Twinkle is really done with this last set of colors.
1 orange+ 1 orange + 1 blue
I know the Golden color says red oxide but it is totally orange.
Just look how dark orange it is!!
I decided on some very Dr. Suess like flowers in blue for this weeks journal page. I used a Prismacolor watercolor pencil to draw the basic shape then went in with a water brush to give them movement and dimension.
My found text came last…although once auditioning the text on the page I realized it really needed a bit of white splatters so the text wouldn’t be so stark.
Once again thank you to Kristen for her hard work and dedication to the yearly challenge!
I love how the found text flows and works so well with the art. Fantastic journal spread!!
Great pages for this weeks SOC. x
I like your orange
I like your blue
I like whatever you do
PS I also like Green eggs and ham. haHa
This was delightful and fun.
LOVE this journal spread!
This is absolutely gorgeous, Halle! I really like your Dr. Seuss-like flowers and your quote! What a wonderful page you made using this week’s SOC colors. I am sad it’s our last week, too! It has been a pleasure following you! Hugs, Sharon
Your flower bursts really echo the found text beautifully…
to me it sounds like what fireworks might say.
Those colors really are fab together too.
From what I’ve seen everyone had a great time with SOC again this year.

p.s. Wanda’s comment above is THE best!
A really fun page Halle! I like what you did with the colors this week.
This is amazing. Those flowers around the swirls of orange make for a beautiful entry that looks like fireworks going off. I was aghast when I saw how beautiful this turned out. Waiting sometimes has its advantages.
Gorgeous, I LOVE your spread! The flowers look like palm trees swaying in the wind and you’re right – the white splatters bring it all alive. I’m sad SOC is over too!
…yes Dr Suess flowers, like this
Thank YOU! xo
Definitely totally orange, super job, BJ
I’m sorry I never really got into the swing of it this year. I did the first two weeks and always meant to continue but real life got in the way.
Yours are lovely.
