After our snow yesterday…yes you read that correctly…snow on April 5th, I guess I wanted to remind myself that a new season is actually upon us.
It is Spring according to the calendar and before we know it, the weather will be hot and humid.
When I started this journal page I had no idea where it was going.
I spread my super thin, lame gesso over the pages in my Watkins cookbook journal then kept adding layers of paint and stamping.
Next I wanted to try out some molding paste applied through a stencil…a technique I’ve seen several times on YouTube videos. I love the texture it adds. I’ll definitely be trying that one again!
I used water and walnut ink to age this library card which is placed on top of a bit of a forest scene magazine page. Love it when things like that work out.
Still looking for more texture I glued down a bit of flower trim.
I am incredibly happy with the way this one turned out.
And look..the sun is even shiny bright today promising that the Season is actually changing.
Nice pages, Halle. I haven’t tried modeling paste yet, it does make for nice texture. Let’s hope you will be seeing more sunshine soon!
These are incredible. I like how you kept working the pages until you were satisfied with them. I tend to stop too quickly.
I’ve used molding paste, but mine dried up very quickly. The first time I used it, it was wonderful. The second time was a nightmare. But I sure like what you did when you used the stencil.
Hope sunny days are ahead for you. They are starting to come here, too.
Your pages are wonderful Halle…the colors and design really speak to me with the perfect touches you’ve used…the flower trim is great too.
all of my gesso seems to be pretty thick…
as much as I enjoy spring weather I am not a fan of hot and humid…
we went from chilly to 80’s almost overnight this week …
the pollen is going bonkers…it is nice to see color in the landscape again

beautiful pages Halle! I’m so glad the sun did make an appearance for you – it really changes everything! warmer temps would change everything too I know! fingers crossed you won’t have much longer to wait. It’s definitely spring here – for which I am VERY thankful :)
Lovely pages :) Kim
