Hello…I’m back for T stands for Tuesday. Did you miss me?I took last week off to attend Little J’s all-district track meet. She did awesome! First place in her school for girls 100m run and her relay team finished a good 3 seconds before anyone else in their heat. She was the anchor, so this photo appears that she is running unopposed. What a great way to finish off her elementary school years! The meet brings together all 7 elementary schools in the district at one of the high schools…too bad it wasn’t the one she’ll be attending since that would be cool at that age. If you look at the way the adults at the finish line are dressed, you’ll get an idea of the temperature that day. Real feel of 39°F.
Anyway…I named this post gardening edition…so where the heck is the gardening?!?Here we have my tiny seedlings waiting to be strong enough to live outside. Notice the plastic barrier I had to erect around them…I’m sure you can guess who that is for.
Mr. G and I worked outside most of Sunday prepping the garden. He built a gate for me this year so I no longer have to climb over the fencing. The beans are planted…tomato cages are ready and the flags are blowing in the breeze both for decoration and deer deterrent. My deck box garden is also ready for planting…my cherry tomato plants and cucumbers will live here.
And where was Miss Gracie…Running from door to door begging to come out. Nope. Not going to happen. Not since she chased that squirrel up a tree. Too strong of hunting instincts for that one.
Lots of things on the list today ending with an evening choir concert, so I better get at it!
What are you doing today?
Congrats to you daughter for the race. You’ve been busy gardening I see. Do those flags really deter deer? The deer at our Mt. House are almost tame and don’t seem to care what we put in the yard. They have their route they follow and are sticking to it.

First of all I love your pretty banner of flags! That reminds me to get out my prayer flags (from a swap) and hang them out to send wishes in the wind. Congrats on your daughter’s accomplishment-yay for her! I tried growing from seed-once and done-so I admire those with a green thumb. Happy T day!
Congrats to your daughter for coming first in the race. Best Wishes to you with the vegetable garden .
Have a great week
Congrats to her on such a fine race!
Looks like you are waiting patiently for warmer weather and are quite prepared, too.
Happy T-Day! :)
Thanks for the visit, the BBQ was a great deal of work but so much fun to participate in. We definitely were NOT in need of the jacket your were wearing at the track meet.
How wonderful for your daughter and congrats to her! That was fantastic.
Happy T-day
You and Gracie tickled my funny bone today Halle.
Now if she chased a DOG up a tree I’d say maybe she should stay inside
but squirrels live in trees LOL (I realize you are avoiding fur flying and bloodshed…just had to laugh when I read it).
Your seedlings look like the nursery I visited today…
I decided to go back later for Basil plants since the sign said “plant when temps remain above 55 degrees)…our nights have been a bit cooler than that!
Congrats to your track star…very exciting!
parents should get extra stars for braving all kinds of weather to cheer their offspring on…
back outside I go to do more planting…
Happy T Day

Little J is the REAL star of today’s post, but I fear she has truly taken a back seat to Gracie. Bleubeard has only climbed a tree once, and that was when a pit bull chased him up it. Took me all day to get him down, too. No hunting instincts in him, I fear (or should I say appreciate).
I got a very late start in my garden this year. I have no lights and nowhere to set up the seed station like you. So, I went out and bought a pepper plant and two tomato plants. I’m hoping they live through the wind and the heat. We’ve already broken another heat record, so I will be glad to trade you places, seeds and all (grin).
Thanks for sharing Little J’s accomplishment, Gracie’s antics, and your new garden (with gate, even) for T today.
Congratulations to your daughter on her track meet success! Good luck with your garden and, of course, Happy T Day. :)
Congrats to your daughter! I’m sure she is beaming and you must be very proud! I always hope to get a head start on a small garden, but with our crazy weather this year, I put it off too long. I did manage to plant some basil seeds which have started coming up.
Hopefully, I’ll get the flower seeds planted soon!
Love the little flags, blowing. We only have to deter rabbits and kangaroos, here, but of course it’s nearly winter, so no plants going in at the moment, just weeding. Congrats for your daughter’s win
Congrats to J on her great races and good luck on your gardens. I love the flags!
Hello Halle, sorry I’m a day late for T time. How awesome for you daughter, YAY!! We do the same thing here, meeting at the HS with our 3 elementary schools here in town. It is always so fun to see them do these events and my Sam came in first in a running one last year and overall his group didn’t do well though. I always wish for just right weather on these days, not too cold or hot. We’ve had all 3 happen and still enjoy it even if sweating or freezing!!
Love seeing the gardens in your yard, we have ours ready too.
How funny is Gracie, we just started letting Romeo out on the deck with us and I worry what might happen but he wants out so bad when we are there. I usually give him only 5 minutes and make him come in.
Hope the concert was fun, it’s always a busy time at the end of the school year isn’t it. Summer vacation will be here SOON!!
Have a great week!
the progress on your little gardens is enviable…love the flags! can’t wait to see things growing there…congrats to your Track Star!…they grow up so fast don’t they?…
39? wow! but your plants make me think summer will come.
