Last week for T stands for Tuesday I promised an update on my garden this week.
It’s flourishing! Tons of blossoms. I think we are just at the cusp of production.
There are already jalapenos on the plant…
and roma tomatoes…. come on fresh salsa!
The deck box garden is doing really well too.
I ended up pulling up the horse radish that was growing in here since there is another plant in the big garden space and planted my Egyptian walking onions instead. I saved the bulbs from the top of the plants last year in a paper bag in the shed. They overwintered out there will seemingly no ill effects.
The planters along the railing are also looking great with the herbs and green onions. I’ve been thinning the green onions by using them…so nice to have those fresh green literally right outside my door. I couldn’t be happier.
It meets Marvin’s approval as well.
Over the weekend I adding a little bit of ambiance to the deck with a string of lights.
We have yet to try them out at night but I think they will be a lot of fun.
I also noticed some birds have been very busy….
I do remember seeing a chickadee hanging around here quite often. I’d have to bet he is the guilty party.
I’m also going to continue to share my CSA box each week as I really believe that its well worth the cost to bring fresh organic veggies to your table each week…provided you have enough people to eat all those veggies.
Week 2: cilantro, basil plant, kale, green onions, garlic scapes, mixed spring greens, head of leaf lettuce, strawberries, carrots, kohlrabi, broccoli and white turnips that are eaten like radishes. Can’t wait to see what the next box brings.
Today I’ll be finishing a commissioned seamstress project. I was asked to shorten some curtains and sew lining fabric behind the thin linen for some actual light blocking.
What are you doing today?
Your garden and the deck are looking really good, and your veggie box looks WONDERFUL. I would have fun eating all of them! Happy T Day, Hugs, Valerie
your garden looks great-and the basil-mmmm. I must ask our neighbor-the basil plants are not doing well-lots of brown at the tips of the leaves. wondering if it’s due to the very hot sun…
so much wonderful produce in your box each week. Wish we had that service here! Have great day and happy T day!
Looks like you will be eating a lot of veggies for the next three months. We don’t have anything like that in our area. If we did, I would more than likely join. Everything looks wonderful and even your garden looks encouraging.
I have sweet 100s about to turn from green to red, but no romas yet. Understandable though, since I bought them much later than the tiny ones.
Thanks for sharing this garden update, as well as your coffee with us for T this Tuesday. You should save one of those boxes of produce for Rinda’s photo contest. That’s far better looking produce than anything I’ve seen in the supermarkets.
Your garden looks great and is way ahead of mine. I also really like Marvin. I haven’t had a cat for a year and I am ready for a new one. I also love your garden flags, and I hope you don’t mind if I copy you. They are so much fun. Happy T day. Hugs- Erika
Your garden looks grand and you’ll be eating from there soon. Your CSA box is great too. I’ve thought of doing one of those but with just the two of us we would never be able to eat everything. I’ll just settle from what I can get out of my own garden ans walking done the road to the neighbors organic garden.
your veggie & herbs garden is delightful! and the csa-box a good Addition.
happy t-day!
Oh what a lovely veggie box! I used to have a weekly organic veggie box when I lived in the UK. It introduced me to a lot of lesser known veggies and it changed my eating habits as I was determined to use up everything in the box. I had to make a menu every week and look up recipes, but in the end I got used to it and as you say, it is so worth it.
You garden looks great! I’m impressed. Mary. Mary, quyite contrary, how does your garden grow…
And your little lights on the decking area look fab. I bet you can’t wait to light them in the evening when you sit out with you cuppa…
Thanks for visiting.
Happy T-Day!
Lisca
I love to see your lovely house and the wonderful garden! Makes me happy!

Happy Tuesday

OmGosh i wish you could shorten my curtains!! We had 10 ft ceiling in CA and i bought the most fab curtains…problem is .. here in Arkansas i have normal 8 ft ceilings…grrrr… All your plants look fabulous!! Yum!!! Happy Tday my dear!! Hugs! deb
Youre garden is really looking fantastic! The box of veggies look scrummy too. Happy sewing and Happy T Day :-)
Your garden is looking so pretty with all the greenery and those flags and lights. I’ve been wanting to try the CSA boxes here but am worried we wouldn’t use it all in time. We do have very small garden this year but DH didn’t put much in because he knew he was having hip surgery.
Your garden is darling and I love the bunting/prayer flags. Also, Marvin looks like quite the saucy fellow!
Thanks for sharing your garden photos. I have one tomato and 2 pepper plants and a few herbs lol, so I enjoy seeing the gardens of those who have a bit more space. It all looks great! Happy T Tuesday on Thursday from this late-bird
I bet Marvin would enjoy getting out in the garden and doing some digging with you ;-)
Everything looks fabulous along with your bunting (which reminds me of laundry hanging on the line which is always charming in my book!).
Computer issues have about taken me to the brink this week but here I am to wish you a Happy T Day eventho it’s late.
Have a great fourth too oxo
