Today is October 1st…you know what that means.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This is a cause near and dear to my heart. My mom is a survivor. She had cancer in 1968…before I was born…heck, before my parents even met. She had a radical mastectomy and prayed for the best. The best is what she got. That was 45 years ago.
In a little while I’m heading to the salon for a haircut. I’m having my gal put in my pink streaks in honor of my mom. This will be my third year of “going pink” for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I love that people ask about my pink streaks and I get to remind them of Breast Cancer Awareness.
We have company coming in from Wisconsin this evening. They are staying with my in-laws but we are hosting the evening meal. So much to do…so little time.
What are you doing today?
is that a fiestaware cup?
thx for the reminder of breast awareness month.
Great post for the first of October and such an important message! Have a wonderful time with your guests!
I remember your pink hair from last year…a wonderful tribute to your Mom…
so glad she is a survivor!
Enjoy your guests
and
Happy October

Thanks for the reminder, just getting back form the beach and all the cleaning and laundry had pushed it out of my mind. LOVE the pink cup and the idea of pink streaks is very clever.
Happy T-day
Wonderful story about your mom and in those days especially, to have such a good outcome. That’s wonderful.
Great pink post, and I’m so glad your mom’s story had a happy outcome. I will definitely “think pink” this month. Happy T Day!
Thank you for sharing. I didn’t know this about October. Love your pink cup
I love that cup!! What a great happy ending story, SOOOO HAPPY for you both!! I bet you look cute in your pink hair, great way to remind others. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this! Have fun with your company. HAPPY T DAY!
Your day was far more interesting than mine, and far less stressful, too. Before I could stop by your blog, my computer hung up. When I got back online, I couldn’t get any page to load, not even my blog. So, I shut down, and made a late lunch. Then my kitchen sink plugged up. Still working on it, but needed to resume visiting my T friends.
Sorry I’m late getting here. I bet right about now you’re serving the entree to your friends and family. I always love it when you put those pink streaks in your hair. That’s a great way to honor this month AND your mother. And pink is the perfect color for T today, too. Thanks for pink T, even though your host was late, late, late!
Wow! Congrats to your mom! That is awesome. :)
Happy T-Day!
