Mini-me and I took a little excursion to the MN Landscape Arboretum. We had several things in mind. Photography, exercise and scouting locations for senior pictures. As we walked the 3 mile drive we saw a few of the art installations for this year.
Amazing Spaces: tree houses is the overall theme. We did not see all of them nor did I get photos of each. Each was unique. Some better than others or perhaps more detailed and understandable in concept.
This is the one I fell in love with. A human sized birdhouse as you can see by Mini-me peering through the glass.
I was amazed and thrilled by the level of detail that went into the interior.
As I stood on the step to take it all in, I saw that someone had set things up for tea. Oh how I wished that we could sit and have tea for real inside.
All-in-all it was a great morning spent with my girl. Incidentally we did go back with J to take senior pictures. They turned out great. There is a little part of me that really wants to share a couple of my favorites but I made the decision long ago to never show their faces or use real names for them as they are minors.
We still plan to take more senior pictures in a more urban setting as well…just to make the choice even more difficult. LOL
Today Mini-me and I might go to the zoo…or else that will be tomorrow. Today we’d be on the clock to get home in time for a meeting. I don’t like to rush fun outings especially when they are quite pricey like the MN Zoo!!
This is our last “free week” or I should say mostly free week so we are trying to get in some stay-cation activities before that school bell rings.
What are you doing today?
I loved the first one best until I saw the detail inside the second one. The details are incredible, including the stained glass and all the miniatures. It’s amazing and a great way to celebrate T time.
I applaud you for not showing the children’s faces. Lots of parents, especially in the scrapbooking community don’t feel that way, but I think you have a great idea. If someone doesn’t want their face shown on a blog, then there are ways to work around that, like how you showed mini-me today.
Thanks for taking us to the Arboretum and sharing this tea time set-up for T this Tuesday.
this big tree house really is a hoot! and a great choice for t-day;)
hope you´re having fun at the zoo the next days… happy summer!
waue, soo sweet, love birdhouses to think one can sit in one . happy T day from me
Love that BIG BIRD HOUSE and all of the details inside! Someone really went to a lot of trouble to create that one. Have a great day and Thank You for stopping by my blog ♥
That was amazing!! I watched the treehouse show on animal planet and it amazes me what he makes for his clients-just so neat.
that would have been a great place for tea
Happy T Day and thanks for sharing the bird house Kathy
Love that birdhouse. What a cool place for Senior pictures. Do you get to take your own picture to use in the yearbook? We had to use a photographer from the school. We used one standard headshot for the yearbook (free). I didn’t like the pictures so didn’t buy the package too expensive. I took the Young One to a local farm and took my own pictures.
The Young One and I also visited the MN Zoo. Loved it. Especially since it was a blistering hot day we got to ride the tram.
Thanks for the memories. Happy T Day
Wow, I love the human-sized birdhouse, isn’t it magical! How lovely that you can peer inside and wonder at all those amazing details ?. Glad your pictures went well, have fun at the zoo and wishing you happiness this T Day! J ?
<that little house is so darling! Glad you had a nice outing. Enjoy the zoo, happy T day,
hugs, Valerie
What a fun display! And to have so much detail on the insides is going the extra mile, I think.
Happy T Tuesday!
Thank you for your kind comment on my blog, Halle. Like you, I can’t imagine life without my blog.
The birdhouse of Arthur J.E. Wren is absolutely fascinating. Like you said, so much detail inside. Plus so many vintage oddities.
I applaud your decision to protect your children’s identities. The internet can be a dangerous place. Better safe than sorry.
Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen
Wow to those amazing photos of the bird house. What fantastic building and the inside looked so inviting with the great interior details.
Happy T day.
Yvonne
Its too bad this is the last week but sounds like you are having a fun. That birdhouse was wonderful! It would make an interesting art studio I think. :) Happy T day. Erika
Wow. amazing – I love that birdhouse!Enjoy the zoo!
Happy T-Day Halle!
Oh what an amazing bird house! So pretty inside. Of course there is no bed as it has a perch. It took me a while to realize that!Lol!
I also hadn’t realized that seniors were children. Here when we talk about seniors, we mean older people.
Belated happy T-Day,
Lisca
Wow! I love this bird house! What a find! We still have a few weeks left of school holidays! Belated Happy T Day! Chrisx
Thank you so much for the lovely…review(?) of Arthur’s Birdhouse. I was doing a quick web search for pictures, your came up, and I ended up clicking through. I’m so glad you appreciated it, and the attention to detail. It’s heartwarming to know it spread a little bit of joy.
FWIW all the tea service accoutrements were real, and when I was on site I would make tea for visitors. You may have been able to help yourself, though I found some combination of rambunctious children and vandals regularly dumped out all the tea and spices with-in about a week of me cleaning-up and refreshing it.
Anyway Thanks Again, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
