Welcome to another edition of T stands for Tuesday hosted by my friend Elizabeth. As always I have my beverage at hand. coffee to goA to-go cup?  Yep…we’ve already been to the orthodontist this morning.  Ah yes…the joys of summer vacation.  I’m thinking we are going to get out and enjoy some sunshine today and fresh air. Maybe walk around a lake…  Bike some trails…. Throw a frisbee… Not sure but we could all use some outside time.

I’ve been continuing to work on some cards.more cardsI started a painting yesterday on a canvas board. I’m out of regular canvas to this will have to do for now.painting in progressIt still a work in progress….

A very special young man in our life just graduated from high school. He is like my 3rd child…my unofficially adopted one. He surprised me with a cup of Caribou coffee one Mother’s Day morning.  So sweet.  He is friend to Big J…and an over-sized big brother to Little J.   grad cardThe boys have had a love for video games since the day they met. Nintendo was the platform of choice.  Now “my second son” is going off to college into a video game design  program in a few short months. I thought this card would make him smile.

Congrats T!

It’s Tuesday again…time to have some sparkling water in my favorite glass and link up with Elizabeth for T stands for Tuesday.20140601_5021        So what I have I been up to lately?  I’ve been doing more crafting than blogging….          And more yard work than crafting. Weeding, mowing, planting and watering…  But now that we’ve had over 4 inches of rain, at least I don’t have to worry about the watering.

Now on to the random crafts…20140601_4987Here we have scarf/necklace made from my favorite tie-dye t-shirt. I finally had to give the shirt up after discovering a huge unrepairable hole.  Apparently I wasn’t ready to completely part with it…

20140601_5010I started this American Girl doll hat when Little J and I were at our camp. One of the little girls asked if she could have it when I was done. Well certainly, my dear. I used my cabbage dyed yarn and knitting loom.

Then, of course, more cards…20140601_5008 20140601_5007 20140601_5006 20140601_5005 20140601_5003I’m trying to get ahead for the Fall/Winter craft sale season.

I was going to share one more new item today but I’m thinking that it deserves it’s own post. It’s something new that I’ve never tried. I was inspired by something on YouTube. Basically to think outside the box.  That’s generally how my brain works anyway.

Stop back tomorrow and see what I’m talking about. (how’s that for a teaser)

What are you doing today??

I’ve been at it again. Sewing bits and pieces together. This time I broke out some colored card stock for inspiration.20140516_4853 20140516_4854I added sentiments to this batch. I don’t seem to be running out out scraps any time soon so I’m sure there will be more.

These are my favorites…20140516_4842 20140516_4846 20140516_4848 20140516_4851

I put some finishing touches on about half of the mini collages I’ve made over the last couple of days. They are addictive to make.

20140426_4636The rest I think should go on colored card stock and I didn’t have any of that cut, folded and ready to go.  Plus I’ll likely match each collage to particular paper before cutting.

These are my favorites from this batch of cards.20140426_4647 20140426_4648 20140426_4659 20140426_4649 20140426_4661The flowers just seem to dress them up in a perfect way.

I had so much fun making the first journal spread yesterday, I went back for another.WednesdayOnce again I worked in my white journal.  Boy, I just realized that I have 4 journals going at once. And I have an idea for yet another. I should probably wait on that idea at least until I fill one of the currents to capacity.Wednesday textureTissue paper was used as a start for this page as well. It had been crumpled over and over again. Lots of tiny little creases. It started out very purple…or maybe violet. The color was a little too “in your face” for my taste. I used a couple of mists around the edges to tone it down to a dull roar.. The aqua washi tape begged me to use it with the new deeper shade of purple. The black and white just helped everything else pop on the page. I have this thing about circles…I use them all the time. They just make me happy I guess.

So last evening I still hadn’t had enough creativity for the day. My sewing machine was still calling me.  I grabbed bits and pieces of fabric, paper, fiber and trims to sew together for collage cards. I didn’t give it much thought…just went for it.collage card marathon I made 21 mini collages that will eventually become greeting cards. Some will be left blank…others will have sentiments…some collages may not make the cut. Who cares…it was all scraps and bits laying around.

I promised I’d share the cards I made but first I have to share the card my neighbor made. It wasn’t complete before I left so she emailed me a picture.

***please ignore the misspelled Birthday I typed on the card. Seriously…proof reading some time might do me some good.***

Isn’t that just so darn cute with the honeycomb background and clever play on words. It’s nice to have such crafty friends to give such great ideas.

The following are the cards I made while there. I did add the stitching at home before adhering the kraft paper (grocery bag) down. The sentiments were also added here at home since I forgot to bring them along.
