T stands for Tuesday rolls around all too quickly each week! I feel like I’m playing catch up all the time. moody tea

I thought I’d give you a little update on life around here.

Not much has changed with the seeds I’ve started other than the view outside is a little white. We got about 4″ of snow which is actually good since we were under a red flag fire warning. 20150323_7478

If you look really closely you can see a few little bits of green popping through the soil.

I also wanted to share about Little J’s surgery. It went really well. She is up and around almost as if nothing had ever happened. She is even going to school today a mere 3 days after knee surgery. Crazy!! Miracles of modern medicine and the resiliency of youth!!

What are you doing today?

Good Morning! Welcome to another edition of T stands for Tuesday.  T stands for Tuesday_200

Lets keep our fingers crossed that my back stays in good shape now! Geesh that was a long haul. I apologize for not stopping by many, if any, blogs for the past week.

Every year I start my seeds the week of St. Patrick’s Day.seed starting By the time we can safely plant outdoors, I’ll have nice size plants to set into the garden…or gardens as the case may be. My in-laws are graciously letting me plant in their garden again this year in addition to my two small garden plots.

So what’s in those cups?

  • 3 variety of tomatoes
  • 2 variety of peppers
  • cucumbers
  • spaghetti squash

I will also be starting some herbs in pots and sowing seeds directly into the gardens when the time comes. We love having fresh herbs and veggies with our meals…especially when they are straight from the garden!plant vigil

Miss Gracie is keeping vigil over the seeds while watching the critters romp.

I’m off to run a few errands, stop to see my knitting group then make a ton of phone calls to get our ducks in a row for Little J’s upcoming knee surgery. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

What are you doing today?

I’m joining in very briefly today. That was not my original plan but my back had other ideas this morning. I’m off to the chiropractor as soon as he gets in. AGH! I don’t have time to be injured. I’m playing taxi cab for Little J who is on crutches. She will be having knee surgery as soon as they can get her scheduled. Poor thing.

I’ll leave you with a photo of Gracie and I having “tea” together…IMG_0182

I totally missed T stands for Tuesday last week. T stands for Tuesday_200I can’t even remember what I was doing other than not being on my computer.

I do know what I was obsessively making on Thursday though…collage card

I turned on some music, grabbed my scraps and began piecing together collages. I think I was inspired to make more after writing an article about my process. I’ll give you more of a heads up on that when it’s about to be published. :) Honestly I’m not sure how much I’m allowed to say about it until it comes out so that’s all I’m saying for now.

I’m such a tease…I know.

Today we are expecting a snow storm but we haven’t seen a flake so far. If it’s as bad as they say, Little J’s concert may be postponed tonight. In the mean time I’ll be working around the house. Exciting, huh?!?

So…what are you doing today?

Hey, it’s Tuesday…you know what that means… T stands for Tuesday_200I am so excited about the new supplies I ordered. I’ve had them on my wish list for quite some time. T Tuesday new suppliesI’m already having fun playing with them. Yesterday, I used my gelatos to create this background. So much fun!!

I’ve also used the bubbles stencil with some molding paste and sprays on the cover of my Watkins journal. Amazing what turns up when you start organizing.watkins coverwatkins cover

Look at the fun texture!! watkins coverwatkins cover

I used a vintage map of Hawaii as the first layer to cover the bright orange covers of the original cook book. Why Hawaii? you ask… Why not?!?!  I love the colors on the back…kind of wish it were the front. watkins journal

Here’s a little recap of the pages inside. It certainly was a quick little journal to fill.

While admiring my new supplies…I had a friend join me for tea….gracie

Oh so helpful cat when trying to work and get organized. “Here let me sit on your lap so you may have the privilege of petting me.”gracie

She’s not so happy to get her photo taken. Just look at that crabby face. Likely because I stopped petting to take the photo.

I’ve got grocery shopping on list today…

What are you doing today?

T stands for Tuesday_200As always on Tuesday…I’m linking up with T stands for Tuesday where we share a virtual beverage and talk about whatever comes to mind. IMG_0202

This week I was hoping to share all kinds of fun things that I had created with you like my new journal

But instead I have a tale. A true story from Sunday.

So grab your cuppa and sit a spell.

Sunday morning I put a turkey in the oven…one of the four I purchased when they were on sale at Thanksgiving.  It looked and smelled delightful when I pulled it out of the oven. It was perfectly cooked…I had out done myself on this one.

Mini-me was helping with all the sides. We had gravy heating on the stove while I was carving the turkey. She was heating green beans in the microwave and making instant mashed potatoes ( I know…but those are the kind she loves and since she was making them). The plastic splatter cover from the microwave was set over a burner…that was never on…and when we turned around it had melted in and was on fire.

I quickly grabbed the plastic and tossed it into the sink at which time the melted plastic on the burner continued to flame even higher.  I made a judgement call and grabbed the fire extinguisher and shot it. Only then did I realize that horrendous mess we had.

I threw open windows, the smoke alarm was going off. Mini-me was in tears in her room. Our entire meal had to be thrown away due to the toxic nature of the chemical flame retardant.

On the bright side…my kitchen is the cleanest it’s been since we moved in thanks to Mr. G. He is a cleaning master. I took the kids out to eat (since I had thrown away our food) after getting everything off the counters cleaned up while he cleaned up the rest including taking apart the stove to get all the chemicals out from the nooks and crannies.

How’s that for excitement!?!?

He jokingly told me next time I wanted him to clean,  to just ask. :)

Today I’m staying home watching the freezing rain and snow fall outside. It’s going to be a skating rink out there.

What are you doing today?

T stands for Tuesday_200I’ve picked up a stomach bug.  A sleeve of soda crackers is my friend. sick teaOf course, I can’t just sit still on the couch and watch TV…I’m passing time making paper flowers at the same time.

Now I’m just hoping I don’t pass it along to the rest of the family.

What are you doing today?
