I figured I’d post a bit early since tomorrow I’ll be busy with my final craft sale before Christmas. My mom says that the people in her complex are really excited about it, so I’m very optimistic for a good turn out.

Over the weekend I decided to make another new crafty item just perfect to share on T Tuesday.

Aren’t they cute!?!  This last one I assume would have been a votive candle holder. I’m in love with the pink velvet on it. I’m going to have to make a tea cup one with the pink velvet for myself. I just need to find the right cup.

I put a bit of steel wool inside the batting so the pins get sharpened with use.  I used E6000 to glue the cup to saucer; those babies aren’t going anywhere.

I’m off to load up my van to be ready for the morning.

tea for two

Mini-me (otherwise known as Little J) and I had morning “tea” yesterday since they had yet one more day off for the Thanksgiving holiday. I had tea, she had cocoa with a generous portion of Redi-whip leftover from pumpkin pie time.

We had two Thanksgivings…one at my in-laws and one here with my mom. I completely missed T stands for Tuesday last week. We were just too busy with everyone off including Mr. G. Today I have the house to myself…except for Gracie…she’s snuggled in my bed. Darn cat…sleeping the day away after keeping me up fighting for space in the bed.

I wish I could just sit and be lazy today but I need to get caught up on errands.

Hopefully I’ll have some more art to share real soon. I started a painting a few days ago but am not excited about it so far…I set it aside to wait for inspiration.

One more craft sale next week. A little impromptu sale at my mom’s senior building. She’s handing out flyers to all of her friends and Bingo buddies.

I snapped a photo at dark:30 of my morning coffee spot.dark 30

The coffee is gone and I’ve moved on to tea. This polar vortex is the pits. It feels like January outside…heck, in the house too.  Cold seeping in everywhere. It’s going to be a L…O…N…G winter if this keeps up.

The cold temps have me thinking about knitting. Not just thinking…doing.20141118_7269After some experimentation with my own pattern and a you tube video on stretchy binding off…I completed these boot cuffs. I know they fit a tweener size girl but I am waiting on a friend who has average size calves to see if they fits her. Too tight on me to be comfortable but I have those wonderful large Norwegian calves made for trudging through the snow along the fjords.

So I mentioned that I did some experimentation. I found out two ways not to make boot cuffs. But I made use of them anyway. Two new American Girl hats ready to hit my etsy store just in time for Christmas shopping.

Today is a stay-home day…lots on the list…likely a bit of knitting too.

snow teaHappy Tuesday! It’s Veteran’s Day here in the USA. Time to remember and pay tribute to those who have served and are still serving in our armed forces.

Here’s my favorite veteran…my dad…in 1946.3-3-2013 12-35-3_051 edit

I’m thrilled I was able to coax the colors back to a more natural look. What a difference.

As for the rest of my day…I’ll be home catching up on housework and shoveling out the end of the driveway. I’d forgotten that it needs to be widened at the end…if it doesn’t we windup with a very narrow driveway once the snow is several feet deep at the street.

EDIT: I almost forgot…my second sale went well. I sold out of one item and nearly of another. It was a good day.

After my endless talk about creating a craft sale inventory, I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you about the event last Saturday. craft sale 2014It started out really slow…I was genuinely getting worried….but then it picked up. I sold quite a bit and got such wonderful comments. Little J helped me for the first couple hours and then left with my in-laws.

One more sale on Thursday! I’m really excited for this one. Last year was great, so I’m hopeful that with much better weather this year (no blizzard) it will be even more successful.

I’m off to vote, errands and knitting…for the first time in ages for the knitting. Hope I remember how. ;)

Happy Tuesday!! Thanks for joining me for another edition of T stands for Tuesday.

Yesterday I set up my craft sale table to get a handle on what fits and how it should look. I  thought I’d share my wares with you.20141027_7216

This candle will likely look familiar to some as I have used it as my T Tuesday “beverage” in the past. I’ve decided to part with it after all….unless it doesn’t sell, of course. :)

Upcycled t-shirt baby bibs are a new item for me this year. I made a few for a friend who just had a baby and everyone loved them. So I decided it was a great way to upcycle some of those outgrown t-shirts.20141027_7210 20141021_7203

These bottle cap flowers are the 2.0 version of my original design.  Each one is unique…plus I get to use up a bunch of those beads that never seem to get used.table collage marked

I figured I’d just share the rest in a little collage since time is of the essence. I’m heading out to walk in a bit but I’ll be back in a while to visit.

Once again I come to you a little late since I was out walking this morning.20141021_7204

I, of course, had my favorite water bottle with me…never leave home without it. My friend and I have been making a habit of walking at least once a week so we can catch up. We used to see each other twice a week at other functions but that has changed.IMG_2500It was funny because even after walking and talking the whole time, we stood in the parking lot and chatted since we still had more to say.  20141021_7201I’ve been busy at crafting too…more inventory. Today I think I’m going to pull out my boxes and see exactly what I have ready to go. It always feels like a lot but you just don’t know what will be the “hot ticket” item each year. I’m in love with the sideways spool ornament. I may have to keep that one for myself as I used some scraps to create it. It is definitely OOAK.
