What a quick week! I have no idea where it went or how it flew by so incredibly fast other than school, school and more school.
Today’s post actually does tie into school. I’m supporting a handful of students in a required Intro to Art class this semester. I’m finding the class very informative. Putting words to the techniques I’ve self-taught over the last decade or so. Such as the elements and principles of art….the actually words and definitions behind drawing technique. The students in the class are creating a Zentangle in which they need to show the 13 elements and principles of art. It made me go back and look at the one larger scale Zentangle I created years ago to see if I could pick out these key components.
I’m not sure I hit all 13 in this Zentangle. It’s funny because I created this in 2006…this page is officially older than the children in that class. :)
Today I was able to play around with watercolor pencils.
Again…so much fun. I was able to work alongside one of my students as they wanted to practice their technique.
I’m having some ice water while I write this post. The temperature and humidity have ramped back up around here as you can see by the condensation on my glass.
It was much nicer over the weekend when Mini-me and a few choir friends sang the national anthem at the boy’s varsity soccer game on Saturday evening.
They sang from the booth…not on the field. So proud of those girls!
ME…I’m still sewing when I can…I’m trying to get caught up on some household chores that have been piling up…emhem…laundry.
Those art classes sound like fun, art was always my fave teaching subject at school. Your weather must be warm to mist up the glass like that – it’s cooled down here, and feels like autumn today. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
WOW, I made ONE zentangle and it hurt so much, I had to rub my dominant hand with my non-dominant hand every few minutes. I know some say it’s relaxing, but I grip my pencil so hard, it cramps my hand. Yours turned out great, especially since it was 2006.
So glad you have a job that actually utilizes your talents. Thanks for sharing your zentangles and your watercolors, as well as your water with us for T this Tuesday, dear Halle.
Now that sounds like a fun way to help your students. I think working in an art class would be a great break in the day. And water is always a good choice! Happy T day Halle. I am off to school myself right now. Hugs-Erika
Fantastic artwork. I like the colors of that booth. Happy T-Day!
must be so much fun being able to share your art knowledge with the students. Nice pencil art and zentangle! Water is my go to- but I never use ice:) Happy T day!
It is an amazing zentangle page and must have taken you hours to create all the small strokes and detail. It sounds like a really interesting class, I’m sure your students will be enjoying their art sessions with you.
Happy T day wishes.

What fun to get to practice art techniques at school with your students ?. How amazing to sing at the soccer game too, that takes courage – you must be so proud of the girls! Enjoy your sewing and house chores (if that’s possible …lol!). Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
2006 doesn’t sound like that long ago to me lol I’m drinking water, too, this morning. Our humidity has decreased, but we’re still getting highs in the upper 90s. Happy T Tuesday!
That zentangle looks fabulous and the idea of teaching an art class sounds like fun. I bet your students are going to love it! Would love to see pictures of what they come up with.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
I wish I could take a Zentangle class. I have played around with it, but probably not enough.
I have even penned a lot of them on a Zentangle board on Pinterest. LOL
Happy T Day!
Teaching art. So fun to share what you love to do. We have a definite Fall feel to the air ? I wish the humidity would ramp up here. Happy T Day
That is a great piece of Zentangle art! And interesting that it is older than your pupils.
Happy (belated) T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
I bet your intro class is really sparking some creativity in those youngsters. What an opportunity for them and for you. It sounds like fun all around. 13 principles? I can only think of a couple: rule of 3rds, Fibonnaci spiral, uneven number …. umm … that’s it!
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
Love the zentangle…..just thinking….what lucky students you have! It’s warming up here too…at least till the weekend! Belated Happy T Day! Hugs, Chrisx
