After visiting the local game store with my family and seeing the wargaming terrain, I knew it was something I wanted to make for several reasons.

Store bought terrain is expensive…you add that to the cost of the models and you’re looking at a second job. Besides that…there is nothing “custom” about it. Cookie cutter…same…same is definitely not my style.

I’ve also always been fascinated by miniatures. Not miniature doll houses like most girls but the scenery pieces.  Although I wasn’t ever a fan of model railroading, likely due to a horrible fire safety film they showed us every year in school but I digress.

I am an artist that loves to reuse and repurpose.  When I look at packaging, I see a ruined building or a stepped hill. Broken toys become junkyard relics.  A plastic pop bottle could become a crashed ship.  A tin can could become a storage tank. The possibilities are endless with a little bit of glue, paint and imagination.
