My mom surprised me with a small box of “orphaned” cups and saucers last week. (ah…who is it that used that on their blog!!!)
She said…” Don’t know what you’ll do with these but I’m sure you’ll find something. Or else sell them.”
This one was in instant favorite for me. It looks like a mug but is very small in size.
I know this cup is very old. I’m hanging onto this one as is. It will find a home in my lawyers cabinet when I’m not using it.
Stop by Kimmies blog to see my Tea Tuesday friends…
oh that IS a precious cup Halle…sweet and thoughtful of your Mom!
Happy Sweet T to you today!
off to check out your lawyer’s cab

Oooo, I recognized it as Bavarian china right away! SO pretty and yes, a definite old treasure!
I highly doubt I originated the term, “orphan”, but I have used the term in my tea posts more than once. heehee
First, thanks for missing me yesterday. I was swamped with people in and out all day. Second, I love the little demitasse cup. It is gorgeous. Third, you are thinking of Nathalie at “An Artist’s Legacy” who has the orphaned cups and saucers. Have a glorious Tea Tuesday. I hope it’s not too cold and snowy in your part of the world today.
Your little “mug” is so sweet …. And so intricately painted! That is definitely a keeper! Nathalie was the first I think to talk about her orphans, but it is something that is catching on! Your lawyers cabinet is really cool …. I love the glass fronts …. That really cuts down on the dusting I’ll bet!
Gorgeous little cup! Lucky you :) Enjoy your T-day.
That cup is definitely a keeper – and Nathalie (Artist’s Legacy) collects orphans!!!
Love your lawyer’s bookcase – my grandmother had one – and she used to call it a barrister’s bookcase/bookshelf. The glass front doors lift up, and slide in- very cool!
This little cup is so pretty, love the colours. A ‘meant to be yours’ cup….enjoy your tea.
darling mug, and I love it when I get those boxes of “junk” from others that are filled with treasures! happy tea day!
Happy T to you!!!I love those pretty colors on the cup!! Take Care!
Happy T, love the tea cup, the green around the rim is really pretty, and the floral just precious. Good Mum to have! Christen
What a pretty orphan! I have a favorite orphan that I kept. It’s a hand painted Nippon cup… I love Nippon and have a small collection of it.
lucky you! what a gorgeous cup and so unusual that it is a mug shape…the flowers are so lovely..sorry i’m late, happy thursday!!!
