Hello and welcome once again to T stands for Tuesday. This week I’m taking a break from sharing my #junkjournaljuly updates to share the wealth of plants around me.
The abundance of rain has yielded huge plants! This morning I picked these beauties.
Fresh produce from the garden is the best. Especially since we aren’t getting a CSA box this year.
As I was trimming the flowers off my herbs, I realized that they are quite pretty and could be used as a base in a bouquet. I wandered around the yard and came up with a sweet little jar of flowers to brighten my kitchen.
When my neighbor saw me picking flowers she offered up her daylilies.
They are lovely on my table. Thank you, neighbor!
My tea even had some plants in it. A little sprig of mint in my Darjeeling tea.
This one takes the cake though…I happened to notice my compost bin had some tall things in it. Since I knew I hadn’t thrown anything in there lately myself I walked down to investigate.
I have 2 tomato plants and 3 zucchini or ?? volunteers in the compost pile. I guess the organic soil is doing pretty well. This is a better place for this sign. Time will tell as to what I’m growing.
Your veggies look SO healthy. I’m really impressed. Do you miss the CSA boxes, or have you decided they aren’t worth the cost. I’d eat out of your garden any day!
You got some lovely flowers and herbs for your table. My day lilies are now all gone. The heat got to them, and they have now all bloomed. I noticed when I was mowing on Friday. What a kind neighbor. But your neighborhood is like that.
I threw a pumpkin in one of my compost piles two years ago and in the spring it sprouted. It’s amazing what comes out of a compost pile. LOVE the marker/sign. Good luck with what comes out.
Your tea looks delicious. A nice sprig of mint really makes any tea taste better.
Thanks for sharing your lovely garden, your compost pile, your flowers, and your tea with us for T this almost Tuesday.
What a great veggie garden. Still waiting for the green beans and tomatoes here but the cucumbers- oh my- SO many! And the lettuces have been so good here too. That is such a beautiful bouquet of flowers – a lovely arrangement. Happy T day!
Oh, my goodness, your fresh vegetables look good, and those flowers! You must have an amazing green thumb! I would love to have fresh mint for tea or just in water. Happy T Day!
NICE pickings from your garden. The flowers are pretty and those veggies look yummy. Nothing better than fresh pickings? I bet you agree. Happy T day. Erika
Your fresh veggies look so good, yummy! You found some lovely flowers, too, and the lilies from your neighbour are gorgeous. And fresh peppermint tea looks great, too. Happy T day, hugs, Valerie
Fabulous post! I love the veggies and flowers from your garden, that flower arrangement is stunningly pretty ?. So funny about the compost too, seems that you must have green fingers – enjoy! Wishing you a very Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
Your vegetables look great. Wonderful photos. Happy T-Day!
The day lilies are gorgeous, Halle. How nice that your harvest is coming in well, despite all the battles with deer, rabbits and other poachers! Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
I have no idea what CSA stands for but I assume it is a box full of organic fruit and veg according to the season. We used to get one when we lived in the UK. Sometimes you get things you don’t know and I like the challenge of finding out how to prepare it.
With all this abundance in your garden I think you won’t need a box this year.
Oh what a surprise in your compost heap! I am sure you will let us know what it produces in good time.
It is a good idea to put fresh mint in your tea. I bet it was delicious.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
