Just a quick ATC using mostly scraps and trash.

The substrate is a waffle box. Book text for background. The “snowflakes” are bits cut from tablecloth I cut up to use as doilies in antique bookcase. The metal is from around the neck of a wine bottle. I had to print backwards, which is no easy feat for me, with an embossing tool to make the word SNOW. I lightly grazed the raised metal with Staz-on ink to give it definition.

I’m so fascinated by hoarfrost. It is so beautiful… This time I got up close and personal with it. It’s so amazing that my little point and shoot camera can take these photos!!

Wanting to play a bit, I pulled out an old project so I’d have a direction.

I don’t know why I’m having such a hard time completing this book. I’m thinking maybe it’s the book itself. I didn’t choose wisely with this one. It’s too stiff and unforgiving. I fear that I’m going to break the binding if I bend it too far…which is a very likely scenario. My friend Elizabeth has a great tutorial for picking the right book to alter. Too bad I didn’t read this BEFORE starting the book.

UHU sent me a tiny candy box, papers and the UHU gluer roller this month.

I took a few extra goodies from my stash and came up with this design.

Check out the full instructions on the UHU Blog.

There may be some free samples left…

Funny story about this bowl…it started out life as a rug.
What I mean is, I was trying to make a braided rug but somehow it started curling upward as I stitched the braids together. Instead of pulling it all out and starting over I punted and made a bowl. I really like the look of it. I may try to starch it so it has more stability or I’ll just choose what I store in it very wisely.

I forgot to mention that a good share of the strips of fabric are from my dad’s old button down shirts. They were so worn that the only thing they were worth was rags…or a rug gone wrong. :)

I needed to warm myself up so I created this Spring inspired altered book page.
Now doesn’t that make you feel a little warmer already…

The doily was snagged from a free box at a garage sale. I used my favorite UHU twist & glue on all the fabric pieces. I sprinkled some fine glitter over the page to cover any spots that the glue seeped through. Made it look like a meant to do that. Maybe I should have just kept quiet and you’d just go along thinking how brilliant I am. Just kidding!!
I think I’ve been shut in too long. Cabin fever is setting in. Symptoms may include: laughing at yourself, by yourself and imagining everyone else thinks you are hysterically funny too.
