It’s happened again…I just have to make some new things I’ve seen on Pinterest.
Such as these Kale chips!
OH YUM!
Crispy, crunchy, healthy, yummy.
Here’s a link to the the original post
Credit where credit is due….

The second inspiration didn’t have any readable instructions…just a series of photos pinned. So, unfortunately, I can’t give credit to whom it’s due.

Here’s the original “pin” (left) which summed itself up nicely.

<-----
I used an ugly canvas I picked up at a garage sale…gessoed and tissue papered it before painting it green.
I thought the green left behind my leaves was a little boring so I went back with painted and retouched them.
Looks pretty dumb on the shed door but I happened to have a nail there for the photo op.
Have you been inspired lately?

It’s that busy time of year.
Getting the garden prepped and planted.
I started with my herbs that hang along the deck. I was able to over winter both a thyme and a flat leaf parsley this year. Additionally I started seeds early this Spring and picked up a couple small plants at the greenhouse yesterday.
We love having fresh herbs in our food.

I have 12 tomato plants this year of 4 varieties that I started from seed back in mid-March.
Six live here… along with some green onions and basil I’m hoping will sprout.

The other six are in the “big garden”. They are sharing space with green beans, snow peas, kohlrabi and jalapenos.
I got the fence up immediately this year so  the wildlife wouldn’t get any snacks from me.

This morning I saw that one of my book purses was this Etsy treasury.
Just had to share…makes me happy when something I’ve created is appeciated.
Lots of fun stuff was featured….
Are you gardening this year?
Thanks for stopping by for Tea Tuesday with Kimmie and the gang.

In the weeks leading up to Easter I saw a few ideas on Pinterest that I thought…
“I could totally do that!”

I made this wreath for my mom’s apartment door.
And these cute little deviled egg chicks for Easter.

Of course, today I went to link to the original pin and share the link to the owner of the photo…no luck.
It says “original pin deleted”.
All I have is the photo in Pinterest.
I’m not about to post someone else’s photo on my blog without being able to give a photo credit.
Yet another reason that I’m now labeling my photos.

Preparation for this years garden has begun.
All of my seeds have sprouted into these cute little seedlings…hooray!
I have 4 varieties of tomatoes, basil, mint, parsley, thyme and dill in one tray and petunias just getting started in the second.
Not sure if  the flowers will be big enough by the time I want them outside but I had to try anyway.

The garden plot is waiting to be prepped as well.
I haven’t dared do any raking or hoeing since hurting my back. I’ve got plenty of time though, we usually don’t plant anything outside until after Mother’s Day. Then the chance of frost is pretty slim.
Can’t wait to get the rest of the seeds into the ground!
We love having a garden to eat from.

So we have this old fridge that just keeps humming along mechanically but cosmetically it was getting really nasty looking.
I used to keep papers, magnets and comics on it to cover as much as possible.
It was rusting from underneath the finish on the doors. I’m guessing that it was a manufacturing issue since the rest of it isn’t rusting at all.
I sanded all the rust and painted over it with Rustoleum paint.
I decided on dictionary pages to cover the fridge. My thought was…it’s got to be better than the way it looked before.

And in my opinion, it totally is!!  I still need to put a couple coats of sealer on top so I can wipe it down as needed. I picked up the Golden polymer medium I used as glue in the recycle center reuse room for FREE!!  Just two cheap foam brushes were purchased for this facelift.
Yes, I know we’ll eventually have to replace this beast but until then it’s definitely a conversation piece in my kitchen!!

…actually coffee. Kimmie is nice that way…she doesn’t mind if we join without the proper beverage. Thanks Kimmie!
I have yet another busy Tuesday. Although I feel much better that I have a few things crossed off the list already.
Tomorrow, I’m sending my oldest off on his 6th grade school trip. They will be gone 3 days and 2 nights.  This is a huge step!! For both of us. :)
He is super excited. I’m nervous because it’s 4 hours away.
I have the packing list at hand and am checking and rechecking it.
What are you doing today??

My garden harvest is winding down…so
I’ve started the process of saving seeds for next years garden. This way I’m creating my own heirloom seeds. This is what I’ve collected thus far.
I’m waiting for a 3 other tomato plants to ripen so that we may sample the goods and see if they are worth saving.
I got those plants from my psuedo-sister-in-law so I don’t even know what they are called.
Do you save seeds? Vegetables? Flowers?
I save them all….it’s fun to see what comes of it and besides that-
IT”S FREE!!
Stop by Kimmie’s blog  to see what she my Tea Tuesday friends are up to today.
I’m heading there next myself.
BTW-Kimmie also has a wonderful gardening blog that can be found on her side bar.
