I finished the very last page in one of my journals, which ironically happened to be the inside cover.

The bold orange made me happy. When I spotted the quote in my stash I knew it was meant to be.

Other bits and pieces also found their way into my hands from a drawer of randomness. I keep thinking I need to sort that stuff but sometimes chaos is best for my creative process.

This heart makes me so, so happy.

The texture…  The inking on the edge… The the fact that its asymmetrical…

Yeah! Love it when things work out.

If you’d have seen the mess I made yesterday in another book, you’d truly understand why this one has restored my confidence. YIKES!

Something light, bright and Spring-like  was what was called for last night.

Must have been the sunshine that had me feeling the love.

The direction and colors I started with for this page got totally covered up.  So strange how things work out.

The background is a page I put together to make a custom Photoshop brush several years ago. It never made the cut so I stuck in a drawer and it promptly disappeared. It surfaced yesterday and was the perfect second beginning of my journal page.

Just a quick page in my Art Journal. The cold temps have me really longing for spring.

be true

Quick art journal page this morning.

Lots of layers and texture…

Children’s books are so much fun.  charlottesweb

Silly stories, tales with a moral, social stories, nursery dairyofawormrhymes and so forth,  all have one idea in mind. To get kids reading or being read to by others.

I volunteer in our elementary school library once a week and love to see those certain titles that are being checked out time and time again. They are sometimes tattered and torn…what I like to call, well loved.

In my new altered book I’ll be highlighting some of my favorites. I’ve been throwing this idea around in my head for a while. Now I’ve finally gotten started.   veryhungrycaterpillar

Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White…a classic.  I remember my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Clark, reading it to our class.

Diary of a Worm by Doreen Cronin is one of the funniest kids books I’ve read. I get a chuckle just sitting here thinking about it.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is just one of many favorites by Eric Carle. Certainly the easiest to illustrate.

Just a page in another art journal.
I didn’t have any idea where I was going with it until it all came together.
I’m finding that I’m working more and more that way lately.
As an aside…I’m looking at moving my blog to WordPress to actually USE the domain Mr. G bought for me a while back.
I’m having anxiety about making the move since I’ve been with Blogger for so long.
When I make the move I hope you will come visit me there….
I’ll definitely keep you posted…
