There is something magical about a fresh snow fall. It’s so incredibly quiet outside. Its as if the fresh fallen snow acts as a sound dampener. We are expecting snow this afternoon into tomorrow. I can’t wait. We had a nearly brown Christmas this year. Sad for those of us who love the snow.
While awaiting the promised snow I decided to do some art journalling. We had watched a little Bob Ross: Joy of Painting over the weekend so it was him who really inspired me to paint today.
Since I was thinking about starting a new art journal anyway I had the freedom to paint on a black sheet of cardstock.
This is my second 7×7 Creative Memories scrapbook turned art journal for me.
The size is perfect. I also love creating on a separate paper then adhering the finished product to the page.
I added a bit of fine blue glitter over the wet paint to give a little extra shimmer to the page. These words from a Tim Holtz sticker book were perfect.

Beautiful page Halle. Snow is so pretty, but I will say it often is just work in my mind and a pain in the you know where. I think if I could stay home and just enjoy it I might feel differently. But here in NH we are like you in Minnesota as we get lots of snow (usually) and here we get a damp cold. Hope you get your snow and you had a Merry Christmas.
WOW, Halle, those trees look like something Bob Ross would paint. You did GREAT. Thanks for sharing them with us at Art Journal Journey.
Did you check out my T post from yesterday? I sort of shared the card you sent.
A great new journal and I love your first page – painted so well! Gorgeous! Thank you for the entry to support Elizabeth’s theme dear Halle!
Happy festive family days for you1
hugs, Susi
Such a pretty Christmas scene! What a fantastic start to your new journal and I love the colours you chose against the black paper and the glitter adds some lovely sparkle ?. Enjoy the rest of your Christmas break and sending you wishes for a happy and creative New Year! J ? x
We get snow so rarely here, so I count on places like this with photos and other art to remind me of those hushed moments. Beautiful! Thank you :)
