We ended up with a lot more jalapenos than last year.
They must like it hot and dry.
Anyway, I’m a big fan of jalapeno jelly on brie with crackers.
Oh YUM!
So I figured…might as well give it a try.
I used the Ball Jalapeno Jelly recipe.
Can’t wait to sample it!
I love jalapeno jelly! I haven’t made it in quite a few years and our jalapeno plants got hailed out. You have me wanting to make some soon!
I like some jalapeno sometimes… but I’m not sure I could handle it in jelly… The orange ceramic brush holder you commented on on my blog was made by my mom years before she passed away in 1993, so it’s pretty old. The tiki cup that has my pallet knives in is much older… lol… I made it in the 3rd grade! That would have been around 1968!
I’ve never heard of jalapeno jelly. I hope it is good and not too hot. I had some jalapeno peppers growing in my garden (mismarked “bell pepper”), but can’t find them now that the eggplant and tomatoes have fallen over.
It’s so dark! I thought it was blackberry jam at first! Sounds delicious!
i did this last spring as someone had given us a jar – which we devoured. I messed up somewhere and had great pepper jelly marinade. I am gearing up to try again!
cheers, dana
never heard of this before, what does it taste like, hot? sweet? I buy jalapenos in brine for my mexican dishes but never seen them as a jelly. I bet it tastes good espcially with cheese! Mx
ps peppermint plant in line to be photographed!
You’re making me hungry…there is something so satisfying about canning and making jams and jellies…haven’t done in a long while!
Nice pic of the fruits of your labor Halle!
