A couple years ago I attempted to use this Rae Dunn planner that I was gifted.
I collaged the corners to give it a little bit more of a “me” feel to it. But it just was too big! It took up way too much room no matter where I tried to keep it. Instead of tossing it out, I set it aside.
When I began preparing to host “I’ve got a notion” over at Art Journal Journey, I remembered how much I love creating journal pages in a loose leaf manner. Especially since I often like to sew on my pages.
I decided to add a bit more collage to disguise the year on the front cover. Since the bird looked weird just hanging out by itself I added the nest and butterfly to keep it company.
I glued two planner pages together to give it a bit more strength then glued the journal page down. I am removing some of the planner pages to reduce bulk but I am happy that I am reusing the planner in some fashion.
Great idea! I haven’t needed a planner in decades lol I’m glad you found a use for that one you couldn’t use.
Isn’t it great that there is art journaling so that we don’t have to throw out old dated planners? I love your pages Halle. hugs-Erika
