Each and every morning I head out to the garden to check on my plants. Gardening brings me so much joy. Going from seed to harvest is a gift.
This season I did not start my own seeds instead I purchased starts through a coworker. I have learned that sometimes you can’t do it all and there is no shame in that.
The beans are finally starting to produce. I’m hoping to harvest enough to can some spicy beans again this year. If not, I still have a stash of jars from last season.
My neighbor once again allowed me to cut her daylilies before the deer had them for a midnight snack. Aren’t they gorgeous?!?
During my time of forced relaxation, I played around with a bag of scraps I purchased quite some time ago from the thrift store. It was a great challenge to pull together cards from a limited palette.
Using only what I had in front of me gave me the opportunity to combine colors and patterns that I typically would not have tried. I simply love the results! This entire pile it ready to go complete with sentiments.
And a whole other giant pile of cards ready for the right words or time.
I’m still working on my journals….really slowly. I’m spending as much time outdoors or with Mini-me, so crafting definitely takes a back seat. Mini-me leaves for college in about a month. It goes so fast.
Your basil looks good and so do your other plants. I planted seeds in the spring and now have more basil than I know what to do with. Your plant is more sensible and you won’t have more than you can handle in a decade (grin). Those day lilies are beautiful. Mine have not bloomed this year.
I’m loving those cards. I don’t make cards, so I will just appreciate the ones you created. The designs and color combinations are not your usual fare. They are all well done, though.
Thanks for sharing your garden, your handmade cards, and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday.
The reason I was upset was because no one seemed to care that it was our 9th anniversary. I was also battling a very personal problem.
Wow, your garden looks fabulous! You used those scraps so beautifully too, so many amazing card designs – love it 😊. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs Jo x
I just popped back to the T party on the off chance someone else had joined and there you were!!! I never have patience for seeds so i always start with starters.. Never thought of it as ‘cheating’… Those daylilies are gorgeous! And yes much better in your vase than in deer bellies.. deer do LOVE them.. And your cards are fantastic!! Limiting our supplies really helps our imagination i think.. Happy T day! Hugs! deb
Wonderful garden. The warm weather goes by so quickly so best to enjoy now. Plenty of time to craft when the weather turns colder. I love all the cards you made. You might inspire me to see what I can do with scraps. Happy T Day
Your garden looks wonderful – so wishing we still had a garden!
What a fabulous pile of really great looking cards! How nice of your neighbour allowing you to cut those lilies!
Belated Happy T Day, Chris
Those daylilies are gorgeous! I have better luck with plants than seeds. The birds and chipmunks make sure no seeds make it all the way to plants and protecting them ’til they’re bigger is a pain.
So many cards. Such pretty designs :)
Oh those day lilies are gorgeous! Those colours!
Your garden is really looking great. I recognize basil, so you will have fun using that in your cooking.
There is no shame in buying starters. I’m not very good with seeds. I get them to sprout but when I put them in the ground, they die. So we go to the market and buy starters.
Sorry for the late comment. (Better late than never),
Hugs,
Lisca
I started with seeds this year and only this week teh first 3 flowewrs bloomed – rather frustrating.
Beautiful lilies.
Oh! Yes. Can you believe the baby I once held, 5 days old, will turn 12 in August?! And I haven´t seen her in 2 years… sad.
Beautiful cards, happy belated T-Day!
Your garden looks great Halle. And I agree, you can’t do it all. But what I am really impressed (and loving) with is all those cards you made. That must have a big bag of scraps. And thanks for sharing that pretty lily bouquet too. Have a great T day and enjoy the time with Mini-me. hugs-Erika
