Seeds are started…must be Spring

Last updated : April 10, 2016

seed cupsI got these started last week and now have a few bits of green coming up.  My biggest concern now is how am I going to keep the cat from grazing on my little sprouts!

I’m thinking of wrapping the plant cart in some netting we have…if I can remember where I stashed it.

Anyone have any tips for me on keeping the cat from grazing on my tender new veggie plants??

Oh crud. Looks like your system thinks I’m a spammer, right after I left a long, long message.

So, this one will be short:
A spray bottle will work on Gracie, and mist your plants, too.

I know it isn’t, but in the photo, it looks like “evil” Gracie is outside your window looking in.

I too have a problem with cats in my garden. I must keep netting or wire over the top to keep them out or they will use it as a litter box. Also used to keep birds out.

You could keep them on a pan with gravel and water …. The water might deter the little cat paws …. Just an idea

We have a few sprouted plants, but disappointingly many did not sprout at all :(

Looks like your garden will be a good one this year! I really don’t garden, and probably should…anyway, I have saved some seedlings from being nibbled by putting a clear two-liter pop bottle over them. Cut out the bottom and just slip it over top of what you want to protect. Maybe you could get two or three of your little pots under each bottle? You can still water through the narrow end at the top, and light gets through the clear plastic just fine. just an idea. maybe your cat would still knock it over…thanks for stopping by my blog. Happy Easter too!
