I was able to remove the blocks or loaves of soap from the molds today.
The oatmeal topped one smells so good!!
I cut them into bars and set them to cure for the next month.
I have to say that they already felt “soap-like”.
The next thing I need is a better way to cut the blocks into bars to get a more even, consistent bar. They are all approx the same weight but they are definitely not even.
Can’t wait to do the next batch! I have to make room in the storage room before I do more. Space…it always seems to be an issue.
Would you show me your molds sometime and give me a quick tutorial?

How wonderful! Isn’t making soap fun! I just love it!
I read somewhere when I was making soap (I made mine in big plastic tubs that required lots of cutting in all directions) to make a tool out of wire with wooden handles at both ends. You wrap the wire around the handles. Notching the handle to accept the wire works best. Using a ruler, place a small knife mark at intervals like 1/2 inch (or more depending on how thick you want your soap bars) before you remove the soap from the mold. Once out of the mold, place the wire over the top of the soap at the first mark. Cut straight down using the wire. Make sure the wire is taut before you begin, then cut straight down the bar. You should be able to cut relatively even bars that way.
I hope that made sense. If not maybe I can explain better when we talk.
