The garage is finally a comfortable temperature again so I got my soap making supplies out and made two batches this morning. The first was an unscented batch that I felt comfortable making again as it turned out well the first time around.
Next I decided to branch out a bit with new recipe, fragrance and an inclusion. I’d observed this soap being made by my friend Patty so I had a clue before starting.
The inclusion is oatmeal ground in my coffee grinder. I sprinkled a few oats on top of the mold so I’d be able to tell the two batches apart very easily. The oatmeal acts as a wonderful exfoliant and general grime fighter.
The molds are tucked away in the storage room waiting to be released from the molds in 24 hrs or so. I lifted the wool blanket a wee to show you the two batches. There was a lot of heat under there.
ooo there you go again, making me super jealous! :) it looks like great soap!!!
That looks like fun, I love home-made soap. I’ve not ever tried making it but I like to buy it…..especially, the smell good kind!
I can smell it from here! LOL It’s about time for me to make more soap too. I just love how it feels and is so good to my skin. It’s fun trying new recipes. I used to have fun naming them too. My favorite for a time was ‘After pulling weeds’ soap for gardeners. LOL It had all kinds of good herbal stuff in it. Have fun !
Wow, the soap is going to be luscious! I love your hobbies, so creative and inspiring!
Happy Day!

You are SO lucky to have a hubby who made these molds. As always, I’m impressed. I guess it’s time to find my stick blender and make some myself. They sure make great Christmas gifts, and are perfect for bazaars, too.
