Hey it’s Tuesday already….seems all I’m doing with my blog is T stands for Tuesday. I’ve got to do something about that! Although I did finally finish and post my 2014 Summer Scavenger Hunt wrap-up…so I haven’t been completely lackadaisical with my blog.
By the way, did anyone notice I changed the background of my blog? I’m thinking that a little more change is due but haven’t given it any brain cells yet.
See now I’m trying to justify things for you and me…silly girl. Anyway…on to the jam!
A while back I mentioned that I’d be making some Yellow Pear Tomato Jam with these babies… I’ve only made jam once before.
I was skeptical at this stage as to whether the jam would ever turn out. It seemed so juicy and not thick. It definitely cooked down though.
Ta-da…the finished product. It’s a cross between a jam and a sauce in my opinion but that works just fine for pouring over Brie for a yummy appetizer.
This is the recipe I used: spicy yellow tomato jam. I think I’d back off on the sugar a bit or add more jalapenos and maybe add pectin to thicken it a bit.
Just got back from a 3.5 mile walk with my friend….lost my favorite stocking hat with tassels. I’m going to have to retrace my steps.
What are you doing today?
Halle, your jam looks great – although I’ve made jam often over the years I’ve never tried making savoury jam. I looked at your previous post too – I am impressed with all the stuff you already have in your holiday inventory – good for you! I hope you sell out of everything.
Your jam looks yummy. I like the idea of a cross between jam and a sauce. My boys make their own versions of something like this for the BBQ competitions. May have to give this a try, thanks for sharing and for dropping by for a visit this week.
Your saucy jam on brie is making my mouth water = YUM!
I am headed over to check out your scavenger hunt pix.
Being gone has really thrown me off…
Happy T Day…hope you find your hat!

Hi Hallie :) your jam/sauce sounds good and looks good too! I love anything over brie–seems such a healthy snack!
Happy T day :) I hope you find your hat!
Golly, this looks scrumptious and I love Brie. I can’t believe how much you have done this summer, making soap, cutting up apples, and now jam. Talk about inspired. You inspire ME.
BTW, I went to your wrap up photo page, but I would have had to reenter all my info. I got lazy, so decided to tell you that I now feel like I must have cheated, since I took a photo of a bakery in Sam’s. I also found a TON of lamp posts. Seems everywhere I went, I found tons, just like you did. And it seems they were all different and unique.
My favorite was the tourist shot. It was brilliant. Of course, I liked the gnomes, too. Great way to end the summer, wasn’t it?
I hope you find your hat!
I have not changed my blog since I started it–LOL!
Happy T-Day! :)
Fiestaware cup? I like the color :)
Your jam/sauce looks interesting. I would definitely try that. Thx :)
looks lovely. there was tomato jam on my SIL’s biscuit!
Tomatoes and jam didn’t sound like they would go together. Well that’s what I thought about carrot cake before I tasted any. Your jam looks fantastic! Hope you find your hat!
Happy T-Day!
I’ve never made jam either…well, does strawberry freezer jam count?! no boiling of jars for me…yours looks good. we will be envying you when you break it out and have some with your Brie~ yum!
