Today I went on a ski trip with the 7th graders. I’m not a skier but I was there to support and encourage the kiddos. I tried skiing over 20 years ago and was pretty sure I was going to get hurt if I kept at it and I needed to drive the bus home so figured I better quit. This time I wasn’t needed to drive the bus but there was no way I was putting on skis.
I may not have skied but I became very proficient at helping with boots, bindings and picking kids up off the ground. It was so fun seeing the kids go from hardly able to stand to going down the slope.
I stood outside at the bottom of one hill or another for about 5 hours today. So happy it was hovering around the freezing point instead of way below like is typical this time of year.
A day filled with exercise and fresh air needs a hearty breakfast…like this one. Wish this would have been from this morning. This breakfast was during winter break while planning some of the flurry of blog posts that made it to the site. It was really great to be so prolific in posting.
I’ve been working on getting caught up with my journals…not the art kind. I’m planning to do a flip through video eventually. I’ve also been thinking about doing flip through videos of some of my completed journals and altered books if there is enough interest. What do you think?
I am with ‘you no skis for me but I have enjoyed in my younger years snowshoes
sounds like a fun day with the kids.
Your breakfast looks good
I would enjoy seeing your videos-I was thinking of doing a video of my fabric journal as I complete it
that is wonderful to be able to use two different libraries-I miss a good library
Happy T Hugs Kathy
I’ve never skied, but it looks like such fun :) That breakfast would taste delicious!
I’m trying to develop an artistic sense this year and have subscribed to several Youtube channels to help with that. I’d love to see your videos.
How brave to go skiing. I wouldn’t do it any more at my age! Love the look of your breakfast, yummy! Happy New Year and happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
i would happily take this breakfast – but not the ski trip;)
have a cozy t-day:) xox
I have never been sking but it does look as though it would be amazing. I am even scared to walk on a frosty surface in case I fall :)
The breakfast looks like a real feast.
Have a very happy T Day
Love Chrissie xx
I’ve never been skiing and I am in awe of folk who do. I think the kids will have had a great day and you must have been so organised with all the jobs to keep them safe on the ice.
The breakfast looks delicious.
Happy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
It looks like you had a very fun day, even if you didn’t ski (good choice, btw). I’m surprised parents allowed their kids to do something so incredibly dangerous. Or maybe it wasn’t all that dangerous, if they were on an easy slope.
I want your breakfast. I love avocado and eggs. YUM. Even I can fix that! Thanks for sharing your day on the slopes and your yummy breakfast with us for T this Tuesday. And YES, I want to see your journals, so a flip video would be a joy!!!
Good for you to be out to support the kids in that cold for so long! No skis for me either- I just know I’d break something and it wouldn’t be pretty:) Looks like a great breakfast with all that protein. Happy New Year and happy T day!
It must have been wonderful to see the kids improve so much with their skiing throughout the day and I bet they had lots of fun too ?. The snow looks so lovely and your breakfast is just my thing, delicious avocado on toast and eggs over easy please …lol ?. So yummy! I would love to see your journal videos please, I think a video is such a good idea as you get to appreciate how tactile the journal pages are, almost as if you can turn the pages yourself – perfect! Wishing you a very happy T Day! J ? x
I have done some downhill skiing in my days but in our family we have mainly done cross crountry skiing (langlauf). (Less dangerous)
But it must have beeb such a pleasure to see the youngsters improve day by day. Although I would not like to stand out in the cold for 5 hours on end.
Your breakfast looks very healthy.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
Looks like a fun day. I too, learned to ski about 30 years ago and then left it at that.
Your breakfast looks divine!
Happy T-da
This looks like quite the adventure. I’m with you though about the skiing. And even though it was cold, it’s a great way to start the new year and do some new things. :) Hope it was a fantastic T day. Hugs-Erika
I learned to ski but it is not the sport I prefer. I do love the snow and the hot chocolate that follows though.
Your breakfast looks delicious and is makeing me hungry.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
I’ve never been on skis and have no desire to try. Not a fan of snow and cold weather. Today, I’m cleaning and decluttering, a never ending task. Happy T Day
I have never been skiing though always wanted to! Don’t think i’d try now though-grin!!! As for the journals – I’ve been wondering the same thing – I’d love to see yours if ever you do!A belated Happy T Day to you! Hugs, Chrisx
LOL, I was never interested in skiing either, Halle . It just looks too dangerous – and cold! I’ve never driven a bus either, but I’d rather try that than ski.
I’d love to see flip-throughs of some of your journals!
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
