I have to say I’m loving the new theme When it’s hot on Art Journal Journey. Nice choice Erika!
The base of this loose leaf journal page is an equation sheet for an engineering course J had taken last semester. Actually just one of the crazy long, I don’t really see any numbers just symbols, type of things spanning three sheets. Wowsers. I’ll stick to middle school math, thank you.
I smeared some bright cheerful summery colors then began adding bits of paper not really knowing where I was heading. Since I had completely covered all the math I decided to add back in a table from a vintage math book so I’d remember where this page had begun.
After I felt my layers were complete, I looked for the right words. The birds made me think of flying, adventure, getting away from it all. The bicycle washi is another nod to getting out into nature and enjoying the fresh air.
Gosh, you’d think we were cooped up or quarantined or something. LOL Sometimes you’ve got to laugh or you’ll cry.
I’m so smitten with this theme that I created two pages in one sitting yesterday…either that or I was avoiding housework. Maybe both.
Since I mentioned work…this is work I actually enjoy…gardening. It is a lot of work but I do love getting my hands dirty, having to wipe the sweat from my brow. But the things I love most is harvesting!
I’ll be canning spicy beans this week! And making cucumber salad…or maybe just peeling and eating.
I’m really looking forward to when the tomatoes ripen. I’m so sick of grocery store tomatoes.
These two bok choy plants and the habanero pepper plant I got for FREE when the local parking lot pop-up greenhouse was shutting down for the season. They always have nice plants.
Lovely journal pages, crafting is a great way of avoiding housew***!! Your garden produce is fabulous, enjoy! Happy T Day, Valerie
What tasty-looking beans. Store-bought tomatoes just can’t compete, can they. Happy T Tuesday!
fun summer themed journal pages! Your veggies are looking so good. Finally we were able to get some swiss chard from the garden. Hoping for some garden tomatoes too-store ones just don’t compare. Happy T day!
Great art journal pages. I can relate to feeling cooped up due to this whole Lock Down thing. Your gardens look fantastic! Either stuff grows fast where you live, or you started your plants inside, or something. And you have a habanero plant! I have four pepper plants, one of which is a habanero, but none of them are doing too well. I think I planted them in the wrong area, where they aren’t getting enough sun. My habanero is still the same small size it was when I planted it weeks ago. :-( Happy T-Day!
Its a wonderful summer journal page , thank you for linking to Erika’s theme at Art Journal Journey. I loved the colours of the background and all the detail you added.
Your photo of the vegetables looks lovely, I think they will have so much flavour being home grown.
Happy T day wishes.

Beautiful pages! I love how you have collaged and layered everything together – gorgeous ?. How wonderful to have all those homegrown veggies, I bet they taste amazing! Happy T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x
I love this new page Halle. That quote is great, and I’d love to come along. Your garden is looking good and so productive. Mine is still plugging along, but you actually have food. How exciting. Hope it was a happy T day and I appreciate you linking your page up to AJJ. Hugs-Erika
Wonderful journal pages. You weren’t avoiding housework, you were busy procraftinating ? Your garden looks great. I can’t wait for cucumber and tomato sandwiches with the tomatoes and cukes fresh picked and still warm from the sun. We still have a ways to get yet. Take care and Happy T Day
Both your pages are lovely! Who has to work, just create! On my blog you said you don’t drink hot tea in hot weather. I don’t know what is wrong with me, I can drink it all day! LOL Happy T Day1
I’m finally back online. Thanks for joining this week’s T party. Next week we will use Inlinkz because you can remove your link and start over again if you make a mistake Be sure to use ONLY your name in the “caption” and not your blog post, please.
Two beautiful pages, Halle. They are both beautiful and I’m a big fan of engineering pages. Thanks for sharing these with us using Erika’s theme at Art Journal Journey.
The veggies are growing well. My Romas are already red and ready to remove from the vine. My sweet 100s I planted in the hay bale have done NOTHING. Thanks for sharing these and your Starbucks drink (or at least the glass) with us for T this Tuesday.
That is a great, colourful, summery page! (Both of them)
I am in awe of your harvest! Beautiful produce. How do can spicy beans? Please tell me as I am tired of eating them as they are.
Our tomatoes have only just flowered, so we have a way to go yet.
I am slightly envious of your habanero plant. Ours don’t seem to grow beyond the seedling stage.
Have a good week,
Lisc
Bright happy page and your garden veggies look wonderful! Blessings on your week
Great pages, Halle. I’m having fun with this theme too.
Yes, one would think we’re cooped up or in quarantine. Not just because we long to be free again, but also because we’re all creating more than usual!
Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen
Love the idea of the base page, just wish I had some of those mathematical pages in my stash but I guess I can download something from the internet. They always seem to look good in a collage and yours is full of lovely things that gives me an escape from reality.
Thanks for such a lovely page (and your veggies look amazing)
Hugs, Neet xx
Both of your journal pages are great. Yes the joy of getting out in the fresh air! We didn’t enjoy our walk so much on Tuesday this week but are going somewhere else tomorrow – no one way systems just watching out for folk! Most of the one way walks we have are the way we usually walk anyway but some folk obviously go in the opposite direction under normal circumstances so it was nice not to have other faces in out photos!
Your veggies look wonderful, I miss not growing our own tomatoes!
Belated Happy T Day! Chrisx
Beautiful Journal page mit den details ! all those homegrown veggies are so great. Happy Day Elke
What a beautiful art journal spread you made! And I absolutely love the wonderful photos of your garden. Yes, it sure does look like you enjoy gardening!!! Hugs, Sharon
