Welcome to a chilly edition of T stands for Tuesday!
All summer I had been giving you garden updates so today I thought I’d show you my winter garden. Maybe I should rephrase that….my garden in winter.
Last week before the temps dropped into the negative°F, we had a little snow that gave everything a lovely coat of white. Since I had to go out to shovel anyway, I grabbed the camera for a little photo tour.
You can see my rosemary, sage and horseradish covered in snow. I have no idea of the herbs will make it but I’m not terribly concerned. I harvested a bunch for smudge sticks late in the season.
I love how the snow rests on the fencing and flags.
I decided to leave the flags up this year as they are quite faded and worn. I want to replace them next summer.
How do you think the worms are doing in their tower? I hope they dug deep enough to survive the winter. Only time will tell.
As for me…I’m drinking lots of hot tea trying to keep warm. The cocoa is for Mr. G…he’s taking a vacation day. Good day to do it too when it’s so dang cold! Especially since he works both inside and out.
What are you doing today?
No snow here -as of this eve but we’re expecting a bit soon:( Just checked on garden and finally the parsley has died but there is yet a bit of kale and that’s it. I should go out and retrieve it before any snow…
I was surprised you kept your prayer flags out. Most of mine are from art friends so I bring them in according to the weather as I don’t want to lose them.
Stay warm and a happy T day!
My sage didn’t make it last year, even though I brought it to my porch. It died a sad and lonely death. It’s the third or fourth one I’ve purchased, so didn’t buy one this year.
I hope the worms make it. They certainly started out well.
That hot cocoa looks good, because I’m not ready for tea this week. Maybe next week.
Thanks for sharing your winter garden, your tea and cocoa with us for T this week. I suspect it was a great day to stay at home.
As for me? I’m just trying to stay warm and create a bit of art in the basement for this Thursday. Unlike your basement, mine is actually warmer than on the main floor.
You are having some “real” winter weather with that beautiful snow blanket covering your lovely garden. The flags do look extra nice!
Lots of hot drinks being sipped here in northern VA where it has gotten really cold but still no white stuff. I am waiting patiently.
Happy T Day Halle oxo
No snow here, it has been relatively mild, but colder weather is on its way. Your garden looks so pretty in the snow. Enjoy your hot tea and cocoa for your OH, stay warm and safe. Happy T Day, Hugs, Valerie
i love your snow covered flags – there is such a calm around them… would not care about the herbs either, and the Worms… well, nature normally finds its way.
but i would take the cocoa in this cold and dreary weather here… happy t-day!!
I hope your worms are ok too. Pretty little banners you have- the snow makes them even prettier. Stay warm my friend!
Love those flags in the snow! and the tea and cocoa looks pretty good right about now too…happy T day ♥
I have to say, even faded, your flags add a little color to your snowy winter garden! We have not had those cold temps yet, but I am sure they will make it to the east coast.
Stay warm and enjoy your tea!
Gorgeous winter in your garden – I hope the worms feel well…lol!Lovely flags – look nice in the snow!
Yummie hot drinks!!!
Happy T-Day!oxo SUsi
All that snow makes me cold! I like that you left your flags out. They look so pretty with the snow.
We have warmed up to -5F since I posted this morning. Brrrr! Too windy here for snow to sit sweetly upon flags. They would be flapping in the wind–LOL! Have fun together with hubby taking a day off! Happy T-Day! :)
I love your snow photos! I do hope your worms are OK! The cocoa looks especially good! Happy t Day, Chrisx
That would be my hubby.. hot chocolate is the only warm drink he likes … no tea or coffee for him… Stay warm Halle. Happy Tday! Hugs! deb
Ah, love to see other peoples’ snow pics.. we haven’t had any snow yet this year… which is unusual and I sure it will change at some point… loads of rain which has caused some major flooding in the region. Good day to take a vacation day indeed… hot chocolate, yes please! Annette
I’m loving your snow!
We just got back from a trip to a cabin in the woods in a TN state park. We checked weather predictions and packed appropriate winter clothes. lol! We ended up getting highs in the upper 50s/lower 60s. We may never see snow again.
