I was compelled to create last night so I started with an old book cover. I layered papers and gesso down. The new gesso I have is quite thin…not happy with that! I just had to call it a night since it wasn’t drying very quickly.

This morning I put on the squares. Over them I put down white tissue paper. Then came the paints.

It started to feel very dream-like to me, hence the words. Scattered around the painting are these words: Escape, Imagine, Freedom from reality and Let go.

Over the past few years I’ve been in a number of chunky book swaps that didn’t have enough players to make a truly “chunky” book. My friend Elizabeth came up with a great solution. Put them all together in one book with dividers separating each theme.

Here are the front and back covers for the book I’m putting together. Now I just need to gather my old swaps and figure out how many dividers I’ll need to make.

I made these 3 yesterday.

I don’t like them as much as I do these.

I’m not a big fan of making ATC’s. The size doesn’t speak to me. However, for packing tape transfers they seem to be a great size. I found a magazine article that had the coolest background and I knew it would look awesome as a transfer.

I had a chance to play a bit yesterday.

I mostly worked on putting the tip-ins I’ve received together with my own pages in a patriotic theme book. I think I still have a page or 2 coming so I can’t say I’m done with that one yet.

Although I did make one new spread in my just for fun altered book.

These are for a friend to help fill in a postage theme mini book.

This is a Mail Order Brides themed challenge in keeping with the “Women in History” month for

This digital piece was made in Paint Shop Pro with all of my own ephemera. The woman is my Grandma, the writing are my Grandpa’s sermon notes, the kids on horses are my dad and a cousin. The newspaper is from my mom’s side as well as the house picture which was a ad for sewing notions.

Just to be clear..Grandma WAS NOT a mailorder bride…don’t want to upset any of the realtives. :)
