Most of the seeds I started have come up.
They have also survived Gracie. I put some tin foil up around the sides as some suggested that cats hate tin foil. Seems to have worked so far.
I have 3 varieties of tomatoes, basil, thyme and parsley. My green onions have yet to sprout so I’m thinking that I’ll have to try again with some other seed.
I just love to look at the tiny little plants though, knowing the yummy goodness to come.
Now if only Mother Nature would cooperate….
My gardens are a little full of snow right now from the latest storm.
We had thunder and lightning with the snowfall this morning. Crazy Spring!! With more on the way.
Don’t get me wrong, I am thankful for the snow. It provided much need moisture for the ground…I just wasn’t excited about the timing.
The two best words when you are a kid.
I don’t mind getting a call at 5:45AM when it’s that kind of news. Always makes I heart skip a beat until I know what it is though.
We’ve been out and cleared round one of the snow but it’s coming down pretty fierce again.
I had to get out the heavy machinery. I like using the snow blower, to be completely honest. But there’s always cleaning up to be done with the shovels anyway. Good thing I had two helpers today. :)
We tried to get Gracie to come explore in the snow but she wanted nothing to do with it after a few flakes hit the top of her head.
Now it’s time for a cup of tea…and hey, it’s Tuesday!
Tea Tuesday…I haven’t been a part of that tradition in a long time.
And then French Toast for lunch. Yum…I love breakfast for lunch.
No, this isn’t a work of art…
it’s just something I did quickly to cover a hot cocoa container. I may pretty it up more…or not.
I read about a great way to painlessly save for Christmas all year long and thought….hmmm…
We have our 20th wedding anniversary coming up in a little over 15 months. We’ve always talked about going someplace special for each of our “big number” anniversaries but never have. Mostly because we had little kids at the time. Now that they are older, I think it’s time.
So I’ve decided that every $5 bill that crosses my path goes directly through the slot I cut in the lid. I’m not going to look, count, or in anyway keep track until it’s time to open it to pay for our trip.
Mr. G is on board the our savings plan. We are both excited to see how much we can save. Since cash isn’t a commodity we use a lot, it could be slow going. When I told my mom about what we were doing and she sweetly slipped me the $5 bills she had on hand.
What do you think of our plan??
