Today has been just one of those wonderful days that everything seems to fall into place. Usually it’s just the opposite. I forget or misplace things, someone is a crabby butt, nothing productive gets accomplished, etc…you get the picture.

Here’s my list of wonderful things for the day:

  • both kids slept in–HOORAY!
  • beautiful gift from a friend arrived (spoon book w/knife)
  • get to see my bracelet in print (pages 101 & 225)
  • baby girl graduated from preschool
  • tried welding for the 1st time — it’s REALLY fun

What a treat this morning, I got up and had a peaceful cup of coffee *all by myself*.

Then my sweet boy came with his gift he made at school. He’s been very patient this year and was able to keep the gift a secret. They made an accordian fold book with pockets that held all kinds of goodies. Coupons for chores, a funny poem, a recipe for love and a bag of tea.

Actually, I waited to open my gift from him and my little girl’s hand colored card until all 4 of us were present. Hubby cleaned up the kitchen this morning and is taking the kids to his folks house for a visit today. More peace and quiet… I think I’ll go workout, come home and shower then go play with some paints, glue and paper.

What did you do today to be a little greener?

Unfortunately, I had to drive the kids to school in 2 different directions. That will be ending very soon…thank goodness. It’s just so frustrating but at least it’s just 2 days a week. I also combine all my errands with these days so I’m not out there driving past the place I’ll need to stop tomorrow. This also saves wear and tear on the vehicle…hubby is an Auto Tech…he preaches this point to me regularly. (love you honey)

I did bring my tote bags to the grocery store to carry home my goods.

On Friday or Saturday we’ll be getting our 1/4 of beef. Buying local…less packaging…less expensive…it’s all good. Plus, I love having all those butcher wrapped packages in the freezer just waiting for me to cook. Last year we got a side of beef…that was TOO MUCH! We still have some roasts and ground beef.

OK..this is getting really lame. It’s the last day of March and we are getting a major snowstorm. They are forecasting 6-7 inches by nightfall and another couple overnight.

Of course, since the kids have the day off of school anyway, they had a grand old time playing until I made them go in because we were ALL soaking wet.

Mother Nature is playing a little trick on us. The calendar says it’s SPRING but it certainly LOOKS like winter.

With the day off for Good Friday, the kids had a blast! They helped me shovel for a bit but the 9+ inches of fresh fallen snow was just too tempting. “Mom, can we take a little break?” Have fun kiddos but quit eating the snow!!!!

Ok so I’m a little bias…
My kiddo will be 8 on Monday. Tonight while eating his chicken tenders he shouts “I lost my tooth!” What..really…where did it go? We got out the flashlight…found lots of crumbs…a few stray wads of paper but no tooth. We are pretty sure it went down the hatch with a bite of chicken.

This is his solution to the problem.
